The evening began quietly, Kotare had asked Lilyth to make no plans for the night. Lilyth tried to do as he asked but a matter of importance had come up. A candlelight vigil for those who had fallen on that day in a far away world. Kotare as always stood by her and agreed to accompany Lilyth to the vigil. The crowd was diverse and many moving words were spoken. Shortly before the end Kotare whispered. "I have to go to Poets Garden to prepare my Poem for Poetry night." Lilyth kissed his cheek assuring him she would be only moments behind him. It crossed her mind that she had heard no word of Poetry Night at the Garden, but so much had gone on lately, she could have easily forgotten. Things had been too busy she thought as she mounted her horse and made her way to the Garden. The Garden was full of people many Lilyth recognized, Martin, Molly, SunWolf, Wren Hapswill, Jack, her attention to the crowd was interrupted as Kotare spoke, "I think I will go first," he said, "I need an audience member to assist me." Lilyth looked around as Kotare scanned the crowd and called her name. "Lilyth, if you could come stand right here", he pointed to the bearskin rug in front of him. He then dropped onto one knee gazing at her lovingly, Kotare took Lilyth's hand and began to speak.

"For 500 years I've prayed to the Gods,
Praying for my future wife.
Now I know it's you, Lily,
for whom I've been praying all my life.

I've prayed not only for the introduction,
but for your very well-being.
The undeniable will of the Gods
no less am I now seeing.

Many nights I've dreamt of you
before I even knew your name.
From now until the day I die
my nights will never be the same.

In you I've found my one true love.
It's you I seek to wed.
We'll keep a strong foundation,
remembering what the Gods have said.

Keeping them as our common focus;
better words n'er were spoken.
A cord of many strands, as we all know,
is never quickly broken.

With your angelic face and sexy smile
you have many kisses for stealing.
I'm a little bit more awkward my love,
but I do love this feeling.

This poem's getting somewhat long;
Just a few more moments please.
If you don't mind I'll take a break;
I'd really like to switch knees.

This toast I brought has a special use;
allow me to explain.
We'll sip today on our engagement day,
at our wedding we'll drink again.

Each year on our anniversary
we'll dust it off once more.
We'll recall the highlights of the year
and "snuggle" as we pour.

You know the purpose this ring serves.
It is my gift to you.
Yet its worth pales in comparison
to my love so pure and true.

This poem needn't be this long;
I could've skipped the verbal strife.
Suffice to say, I love you, Lily
and will you to be my wife?"

Lilyth was overcome with emotion squeezing his hand she answered "Yes!"

The two embraced sharing a moment of utter happiness and hopes for thier future. A single kiss sealed thier fate to join as one in the union of marriage. Overjoyed the two received congratulations from the crowd that had gathered and happily retired to thier table, Lilyth's mind spun. Her heart told her she belonged with Kotare, tonight his heart had spoken. They smiled like fools and began to make plans for thier future together.
