Twiddling the gold coin in her fingers her mind drifts to the last complete conversation that she actually had with her husband. It was on the balcony of the castle, they were alone and the conversation was heated. Mostly to do with Regency business and the intrigue that seemed to swirl around it.

Rufus’ words had been carefully chosen and hard for her to take. He was upset and visibly agitated. It seemed to her that he was unleashing towards her not at her. Frustrations that had built up over time from many different sources were being unleashed into her loving embrace. She had become his avenue to express openly some of what had been so worrisome to him. Unguarded his frustrations spilled forth, some even directed towards her personally yet their love with stood.

Knowing this hadn’t eased her pain from his harsh words that he had expressed that night. Even her love for him felt strained and overly used. Now all she can do is watch…..fearful of picking up the conversation again she waits for him to come to her. Knowing he will seek out the secure and safe place within her love once more, it was only a matter of time.

While waiting for him, Sarah uses her gentle ways to soothe her husband whenever she sees the inner turmoil ripple to the surface. Soft massages, a gentle caress, his favorite foods, short but special times with Najm and any other non intrusive things she could provide for him, she felt was her duty to do. So she waits….knowing her husband will eventually choose a path for both of them to follow.

Rufus walked far beyond the ghettos of Nujel'm. He slowly walked along the shore as he watched the red sun set on the horizon; cool breezes blew about his body. The winds were a bit chilly, but a different feeling than that of the sun beaming down on his caramel skin. He grabbed the edges of his cloak and wrapped it around him. And there he stood, his profile covered in red, as if corresponding with the now setting sun.

A smile filled his face as his took in a deep breath, "Some things can nay become tiring or a bore. If only decisions were as simple. Tis often I find myself holding these endless debates within my person, attempting to calm the spirits of the Loyalists by this deep thinking...but at the same instant, I hope to calm the uncertainty in myself. The oracle seemed lost...but with purpose. See had the eyes of a loving mother...the eyes of a caring spouse..." Rufus turned his body a bit and walked along the coast of the isle. Sand fell upon his feet as he kicked it up gently. He paused for a moment and shook his sandal, hoping to remove the sand from his toes...

"The missives to and fro between Bartholomew and I... I know my ideals nay to be a corrupt one, nor will I allow him to change my thoughts to believe that it is one of lesser values. For it is what I as an individual choose, and that is all. But still, I owe him conversation...to mayhaps educate him a bit." Rufus smiled warmly, and nodded to himself. He continued to walk along the coast, the sounds of the waves soothing his heart. "And still, the greatest conundrum lay before me. The administration for the Regency has been drawn up, my decisions on the cabinet have been made...and I shall have it posted throught out Lord British's lands. That cabinet will solidify the growth and strengthen a Regency that is moving forward. And I pray they will keep the church in mind as they fight to work in the best interest of Virtue and the preservation of such..."

Rufus knelt down a bit, gathering up a bit of sand in his right hand. He stood slowly, and turned his face to the almost completely set sun. He released the edge of the his cloak he still held in his left hand, and brushed the Crescent marking under his eye. He extended his hand over the islands edge, just above the crashing waves, and released the sand into the air...allowing it to spread out into the sea...

"In the efforts to remove that blackened surface that we loath, we should unify. And in that we will cover it...removing it from View. But as the tide changes...as does the wind, These nations shall go their seperate ways. Some to drown, and dwindle to nothing...some to float along and find rebirth...genesis. And mayhaps...they will find their way together, and unify, creating a golden mass of Virtue. But what of the King who has lost faith..."

Rufus shook his head as the last grain of sand left his palm. He smiled and turned toward the City. His blood red cape fluttered in the wind, his gold armor reflecting what bit of sunlight was left. The colors of Nujel'm rode on the winds that day...
