*** (Present time)

Gerosh sat up in the bed, gasping for breath. He looked around, still gasping for breath he looked down beside him to where a woman-Tatiana-slept quietly. He gasped out loud and stumbled onto the ground. Using his hands he slid himself against the wall. He sweats intensely and wore a confused expression on his face. Tilting his head slightly he looked towards the girl sleeping quietly on the bed.

Tatiana slowly opened her eyes and looked at the man who was…her husband. She smiled at him tiredly and spoke quietly.

“Beowulf, what’s wrong? Did I kick you in your sleep?” she asked.

“Who, who are you? Where am I? What am I doing here?” he asked worriedly.

Tatiana was slightly confused but went along with it.

“You are Beowulf Thormear, my husband. You’re in Dark Cove, our home. You live here with me, and you are here sleeping.”

“Lies! I’m, I’m dead! Your not my wife!”

“Beowulf, what is wrong?” Tati became suddenly worried. She looked into his eyes and sensed something different about him. It was not the same man who had lain down to sleep earlier that evening.

“Stop calling me that!” he yelled. “Don’t come near me!” Gerosh rushed out of the room running for all he was worth.

He ran for several hours that night, at top speed and no less. He rushed to the only place he could think of for safety, Trinsic. He ran in the forest nearest Trinsic, keeping to the darkness.

“Nearly there.” He kept repeating. He suddenly came to a halt. He closed his eyes tightly, trying to hold back the tears. Visions of black clouds slowly filled his head. The tears began to stream down his face he grasped his head screaming.

“Get out!” he screamed. The clouds grew darker the evil grew stronger. Finally he lost control of everything. This was not his body, it was another, but he was in it. He screamed louder for a moment, than there was silence.

The cold night breeze swept across his naked body, Beowulf stood in the forest somewhat confused. His head hurt for a few seconds, than the pain was relieved. He looked around at his surroundings and concluded he was standing in the forest near Trinsic. Than it dawned on him, he was standing in the middle of the night, very far from his home, naked. He spoke suddenly, very loud.

“Wha’ the hell!”

It had taken him hours to walk home; he wasn’t very impressed with himself. Nightmares were one thing, but now he was taking a journey across the land naked? By the time he had reached Dark Cove the sun was rising. He strolled past the Armunn house and wondered if anyone was awake.

He finally arrived home and quietly slipped upstairs. He opened the door to his bedroom to find Tatiana, not there. He quickly pulled on his leather armor and wrapped his oversized blanket around him. He was freezing from the cold breeze of the night. He made his way into his office and collapsed in his chair. He began to think out loud and recall the things that had recently happened to him.

“So I begin to have nightmares, driving me insane. I get this bloody cross mark on my chest and I poured some damn paladins blood in it. The dreams haven’t been too bad since, except for the fact I can’t speak with the dead anymore.

Ultima has returned, he seems very bitter towards me. We exchanged not so pleasant words while I was in Moonglow with some of the other Dark Order members. He was very upset when Nico began to burn everything and began ranting on. Ditto informed me of certain words he said last nigh’. I will kill him if I see him again.

Now there’s tha’ damn Armunn kid! She’s a spoiled little brat who only followers her fathers word. I told her to inform her father tha’ someone should be placed under my division and not his and she got all upset. Exclaiming tha’ her father was right and I was wrong, not to treat her like a slave. She carried on after I called her useless and ranted on insulting me calling me immature. Tarothin, thank god, put her in her place, told her to respect me, he than told me to respect his daughter as well! Respect her? I told her to tell him something when he wasn’t busy and she lipped off!

Now to top things off, I’m waking up naked in a forest. Not any forest, the farthest damn forest from Dark Cove. Bloody hell, wha’ next?”

Beowulf sighed quietly and slumped in his chain. He was growing frustrated.

“Wonder where Tatiana is.” He mumbled.

The clerics gathered around a large stone table. They talked between each other loudly. Finally one hushed them all and began to speak.

“This has gone better than we could have ever expected. We had only meant to curse that fool. Now it seems with the blood of a paladin in his veins along with his evil blood, he shares his body! We had only meant to drain him of his evil ways and curse him with the power of chivalry. That would have ruined his life completely. But now, something even better has happened, he has to share his life with someone quite opposite, and he doesn’t even know it.

My brothers, Beowulf’s alternate ego is none other than Gerosh the paladin of Trinsic. We will continue with our ceremonies and finish this the way we wanted to. Perhaps this could tilt in our favor even more than we thought.”
