Character Name: John Shaw Foster

Alignment: Lawful Good ~ Chaotic Good

Guild: Order of the Kriterion

Role/Title: Duke/Druid Lord of Mhikira

History:

The son of Eamon Shaw Foster was born in Greater Yew an only child. John displayed an uncanny ability for gathering knowledge. As a young pupil of Grandmaster Fhorla, John would consume literature at such a rate as never seen before. It was determined that John would become one of the Scribes of the Abbey and oversee the Foster Library that had fallen into disrepair {Many Fosters including Eamon opted to serve as Warrior Mages}. This destiny was not what John wanted, as he got older, he was denied the oppertunity to attend the British Schools.

Resentment and anger were John's constant emotions. Often he would trash the books in the Library or fight with the other young scribes in the Abbey. At the age of 18 John crept from the Abbey and hitched a ride with a caravan to Vesper. Vesper was John's new world; he marveled at the unique layout of the city and interacted with many travelers. He
caught the attention of Eavor, a Guildmaster in Magic Light, Eavor taught
John every thing he knew of Magery and allowed him to work there, which
provided John with the resources to board in Vesper. John attended the
wrestling courses at the Champions of Light, by age 22 he had Grandmastered in six disciplines.

One night John and some friends were out at the Ironwood in south Vesper when a band of theives rousted the inn. The band was led by a charismatic Thief named Howard, John and company sprang into action. Aided by a few warriors the thieves were thwarted, then Howard did something that would change John forever. Scurrying to the rear of the inn, Howard vanished. In the chaos of the skirmish John thought he
was seeing things, the thives were carted of to prison and the inn settled down.

John learned that Howard had used the Hiding Skill to escape capture,
immediately John inquired how he would be able to learn the skill. Eavor
forbade him to learn it, only thieves use that skill. This did not sit well with John, he was soon to be a warrior mage and he knew the skill would come in handy. Packing his things, John headed to Britain, he learned that a Thief guildmaster would sometimes seek out prospects in the bustling city. John had his oppertunity, nearly six weeks after his arrival in West Britain. John learned what he could and roamed the countryside practicing it. He returned to Britain to learn of the Factions System that was spreading across the Realm. He joinned the True Britainnian for no more reason (he thought) than it was in Britain. John fought courageously and earned his
Knighthood in no time. He was feared and respected as a worthy combatant.

Soon however, life in the Factions proved unfulfilling for John. He withdrew
to the north, living as a hermit woodsman for sometime. He happened on the Foster Libray, it was clean and bare and owned by a longtime family friend Argyle Bloodmaine. John met Argyle and told him his tales since leaving Yew six years ago. Argyle allowed him to board at the Libray and tried to get John to reconcile with the family. It took many months,
John returned to the Abbey and was reunited with his old teacher. John
thought his duty was to the Abbey, Fhorla finally told him that his true destiny lay in in the Old Lands. She told him of his bloodline and why his thirst for warfare was so insatiable. John knew he had to return to the service of Yew, and he sought out the Militia Captain.

John served in the Militia for five years (five months real time), participated in a number of battles and made many friends. He rose to the rank of Corporal and nearly decided on a life in the Militia as a permanent thing until he was reminded of his calling to the Kriterion Order.

John accepted his role as Chief Custodian as well as his hereditary title of Duke of Mhikira. His werebear bloodline allowed him to transorm himself into a cunning warrior, capable of silent movement and quick kills. John often chooses diplomacy to attain any goals, but is not hesitant to cut the throat of an ignorant or stubborn adversary.
