Mallory smiled to herself as she woke up. Last night had been most interesting... filled with fear, and hope... and even some romance. Her cheeks brightened as she thought about the evening. She suddenly sat up from her bed... She had things to do today! Mister Poet had liked her idea of a Holiday Party, and given her permission to post an invitation across the lands, with careful instructions to not go into Dark Cove any more. She hadn't known any better. She was just looking for some rolling pins... she had been there before without any problems. Even her good friend Tatiana and her husband Mister Thoromear lived there, and she had visited her once to check on her and the baby and nothing had been said to her. Oh well... if Mister Poet said to not go there she wouldn't. Better to not stir up trouble, she thought to herself. She had far too much to do to get ready for the party. Instead she sat at her desk and carefully wrote out the notice. She looked around and spied some leftover mistletoe and grinned. Yes... that would be perfect. She rolled up the notices and set out to the different cities to post it.

As she stepped back and looked at her work, she hoped that people would come. Especially certain people... she smiled to hersellf and continued on...

As Zezal was collecting wheat for his cooking that night he walked by Mallory's poster. He read it over and was amazed at the fine work. He quickly sent a pigeon to Poet telling him he would be there and one to Mallory telling her he will make the deserts she asked for. "Now all I need is someone to go with" was all he said with a chuckle and continued collecting the wheat.

Suilad there,
I am not quite sure what this mistletoe is, but it sounds dangerous. If it is like a certain spell I have heard of which bears a similiar name, I believe it is named magic missile and is commonly referred to as magic arrow or something of the sort, then I would not want to be anywhere near under it, let alone go to a celebration involving multiple people being under it. Just because it involves toes does not make it any less dangerous! I shall be telling everyone I know to be wary of this celebration. This is not a laughable matter, it is quite serious. Please say suilad to Poet for me, also, to whomever receives this letter first.

Diola lle,
Alexander

Alexander ties up the note and sends it on it's way to the Traveling Minstrels, astonished that a group that seemed so friendly would do something so dangerous.[/i]

Poet adjusts Mallory's poster at the Garden so that it covers up the one left by the Dark Order.

"Noow this sounds like fun. I am glad I agreed ta' this."

"I hope we hae some haggis, though."

Mallory looked at the list that Mister Poet had given her of the people that he had heard were coming to the celebration. There were a few names she did not recognize, and then she added to the list those that had spoken to her. "I better get started preparing the dinner" she said to her dog Charlie. He looked up at her and wagged his tail. Dinner was a word he knew, and had come to appreciate well. She looked back at the list of people and decided to cook for extras, should they happen to arrive. She grinned to herself as she thought about all the happy children that would recieve presents from Santa this year...

Tyra had heard about the party and seemed quiet pleased. She had not been feeling the best past few weeks, but was starting to feel better. She wrote a note to Poet requesting seating.. She was unsure if Murdoc had done the same or what.

Deat Mr Poet,
I would like to request two seats for your party. Unsure when we have to pay. But I would like a seat reserved for me and my husband. Thanks you.

Sincerely,
Tyra

She looked upon that letter for a while. "My husband" she repeated a few more times. She liked the sound of that. She just hoped that Murdoc didn't have any business or plans. The letter was sent off and she busied herself with learning to cook his favorite meal.

Toren stepped back from the buliten board where the notice hung. He thought to himself for a moment on if he should go or not. After a few moment of thought he returned to his desk and set out a bit of parchment.

Dear Mr. Poet,
I would like to request a reserved seat at your holiday party. I only need one, and if you cannot secure me a seat, please respond to my leter. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Toren Smythe

Toren sealed the leter and stepped back from his desk and handed the leter to a servant. He then opened up a dimensional gate to the Garden
so that the servant may deliver it.

Mallory reads the note again. She did not really understand what this Alexander meant, but she wanted to assure him that this event would not pose any harm to him. She pulled out a sheet of her parchment and began a letter...

Suilad Alexander,
I hope that this letter finds you well and in good health. I was a little puzzled by your letter, but I want you to be assured that there is nothing bad is going to happen. It is an evening to celebrate the holiday season and enjoy the company of friends and family. Mistletoe is a plant... I have enclosed one for you to see. I am no mage and do not know spells. I hope that you will reconsider and join us in the festivities.

-Mallory Rowdep

She sealed up the letter and stamped it with the Minstrel's seal and sent it by messenger to Alexander.

After reading the reply and carefully examining the supposed mistletoe, and not finding anything dangerous about it, Alexander decided he might try attending the party. He wrote a quick note and sent it back to Poet's Tavern.

Quote:
Suilad again,
The plant seems to be of a harmless nature, so I am unsure why it has such a harmful name. I have decided, if it is not too late, that I would like to see what exactly this party shall be about. I shall be keeping my eye out for harmful things, though, so this better not be a trick! If it is too late to request a seat at the party, I suppose I shall just sit alone somewhere and eat some bread. That would not be fun. I hope I may go.

Namaarie,
Alexander

Mallory grins as she reads the letter from Alexander. Why would he only want bread though when there would be so many other good things... fresh cheese from the farms in Moonglow, sweet Elven and Yew wines, homemade soups, red and white miso soup to be exact... she had gotton fresh vegetables to make salads and baked some bread to go along with it... plus she and Zezal had been working in the kitchen learning how to make different entrees of beef and chicken and lamb and fish... and the desserts!! There would be cake and pies and most definately cookies... what would a holiday party be without cookies... She smiled and wrote a note back to Alexander:

Suilad Alexander,
You will be most welcome this evening and a space has been reserved for you. I hope that you will have a good time, for that is what is planned. Safe journeys to you my friend.

Mallory Rowdep

*Thinking to herself, Ceinwyn read the notice*

Sounds like fun, she thought, I am sure we can liven things up a bit, if not..

*grinning, she wrote a message to this Mallory*

Dear Mallory,

I should like to reserve 2 seats for the fest, are there any available? When and where do I give thee mine gold? And is there a dress code?

Aluve,

Ceinwyn ab'Arawn ab'Mairsil

* reading the posted letter, Keyes grinned to himself, and pulled out a peice of parchment *

Dear Mallory or Poet,

If all goes well, and there are available seats, I would like to reserve one for myself. Is there any required clothing to be worn? Or shall we come as normally dressed? Also...Will there be ale?

* He rolls the parchment, and surrounds it with a clasp, and ties it to his eagles leg *

"Fly well"

When Mallory returned from running her errands the mailbox out front held two new messages. She exitedly hurried into the office area and read them in anticipation. She did not recognize the first author, but the second letter was from Mister Keyes... she recognized his handwriting from his tab at the bar... She smiled and pulled two sheets of parchment from the shelf and wrote the first letter...

Dear Miss Ceinwyn ab'Arawn ab'Mairsil (what a long name!!),

You have 2 seats reserved for you and your guest. The fee will be collected as you enter. There is no dress code, it is a festive event.

Mallory Rowdep

On the second sheet she wrote...

Dear Mister Keyes,

Of course there will be ale!! What kind of festival would it be without ale??
There shall be a seat reserved for you, with others from the Legion if you wish. There is no required clothing... as long as you wear some. We look forward to seeing you tonight.

Mallory Rowdep

Vaen, in his hours of being bored, decided to write a comical note to Mallory.

Quote:
Dear Mallory,

It is I! Vaen Swiftar. I was just wondering on what kind of dress code there is tonight. I was thinking of putting on one of the finest dresses I can find, and top it off with a beautiful flower garland made with only the best flowers in all the land.

Of course, I would include in these articles of clothing, the proper holiday festive colors of pink, lime green, and sun-glare-yellow.

Please do respond as soon as possible! For I must let Alexander know whether or not he and I will be going in dresses or not.

Thank you!

Lord Vaen Swiftar
Proconsul
Legion of Cross-Dressing Justice-Seekers

Vaen chuckled to himself as he sent the letter away. He then quickly remembered a couple nights ago when he was evilly conned into wearing a dress. He then sighed to himself and slapped his forehead. "People are going to start believing that I actually enjoy being in women's clothing. Blah."
