Charlie opened his eyes, a wave of fear swept over his body and the hair on his back stood on end, something was wrong, he could feel it in his bones, he crawled out from under the porch where he had been sleeping in west Britain. It was eerily quiet, and he felt all alone, he could only hear screams and battle cries to the North.

With a leap Charlie sprung up and began to run top speed to the north, passing the body's of guards and common folk dead on the ground all around him, a wave of emotion over took him, first fear, then sadness, followed quickly by anger, he gritted his teethe and ran harder. In front of him his first foe appeared, a lowly lizard, he leaped into the air at top speed knocking it to the ground, still on top of the creature he began to bite and maul it's neck and face. As he continued to maul the dead lizards corpse he was oblivious to being surrounded by other monsters. Charlie looked up with a hateful face, blood now covered his mussel and whiskers, the foes quickly closed in on him and his mind was made up, he wouldn't die without giving them a fight...

The noon sun was high into the sky, but that was the best aspect of the day. The lone paladin walked through the forest of north Britain gathering wood for his friends among the crafters and carpenters, it was only half way through the first tree he started to realize that the forest was nearly deserted, birds had stoped singing their morning tune the wild horses that frequented the area were no where in sight, even the random sewer rat and mongbats were missing. That's when he heard it...

"Ithsyliha!

... chanting in the near distance... thinking this a missed lizard from the dungeon to the north or perhaps a scout from this force he's been hearing about, Arakad quickly sprang to action to take out the lone foe, rushing into its back with the blade of the hatchet severing its twisted spine. That's when it hit, four more of the same beasts started down from the cemetery direction, and a dozen more behind those. It was clear... the invasion has begun! Tossing the bloody hatchet into the next lizard Arakad quickly drew his flame Daisho blades from their cross sheath on his back, and at the same instant griping the blades he called forth a fire elemental commanding it on the large group flanking the four, he himself stood ground against the quartet coming at him. A feint swip taking one out in one hit, then a lightning swipe to the next. Followed with a momentum swipe taking out the last two in the same fashion. It was clear that these were merely the first wave, or perhaps the last of the stragglers... for as he turned to head down to the northern smith he came to realize that Those few he had dispatched were just that... stragglers... The city had already began to be over run. The lizardmen were quickly going down the streets and the citizens taking weapons in hand feably fighting for their homes, for the cobblestone streets started to run red with blood of the innocent and virtuous alike...

Seeing the fire elemental fighting off those that kept coming from the graveyard, even undead burning at its presence, the dark paladin rushed into the city slicing his way through the masses scale and hide, cold blood sizzling on the flameing blade as he ordered commands to those that listened "Defend the castle! Hold your ground! do not let a single scale faced being pass the first gate!" And with that Arakad rushed up the wooden bridge of the Castle British and down the path to what may suit as a workable infirmary for those in need.
