The stripling turned from the woman, he had not looked above her knees. She held the tightly wrapped scope in her arms. Looking after the boy, LaBelle lowered her own gaze, to the small bundle of leather tied with cord. She turned slowly into the doorframe, and moved cross the room to place it upon a small table. Untying the cords, she loosened the several crusted leather pieces protecting the instrument. It could not have been more lovely, she only hoped that it worked as she had heard, and been promised by it’s maker. She prepared the item with the parchment, from beneath her waist, and went to await the familiar messenger of his Lord Majere.

The city beckoned her this night. She walked for long hours along quiet paths, and stood in admiration of the great stone carvings. Taking long steady breaths her steps were swift through the city, and around it again. By the third time around a groom waiting passage near the mint, had taken notice, and inquired if she had lost something. Shaking her head she moved past him, jarred from the thoughts that had kept her stride steady and long.

There was not one cause for her disquiet this night, but a great many. LaBelle breathed a small sigh in relief, that she was now tired enough to slumber. She headed for the small one roomed cabin near the edge of the city. Withdrawing several bedrolls from her chest, she lay them over the bunk, that Lords and Ladies prefer to sleep on. Moving each gently, methodically, she patterned them to a thickness, and longed for the heavy fur, she had left behind. Resting her head she looked up to the ceiling, closed her eyes and envisioned, the brightest star. Sleep persevered, and was welcomed, by the paladin woman with much to her mind.

His messenger arrived baring a package for him from Labelle. Leshok smiled as he opened the pouch and read the parchment, his wonder and delight intensified as he looked to the other item in the pouch, wrapped in leather. He opened it to discover a brilliantly made spy glass of gold. Leshok looked it over for a while and smiled as he read over the note again with a smile. Gazing through the glass, he viewed the stars and the moon with an even greater view. He stood upon his balcony for many hours before groing tired and smiling before laying the item gently at the desk by his bed. As he went to sleep he thought to himself of ways to repay the gift the Lady had thoughtfully picked for him.
