Brianha sat back, tired and hot from digging in her garden. Her skirt billowed around her as she stretched out and tilted her head back breathing in the soft breeze that grazed her cheeks and lightly blew her long locks away from her face. She contemplated all of the events that had transpired since her arrival here. She had begun to make friends, and she felt that she was learning new skills, and fine tuning the ones she already possessed, under Max's care. He had been so kind to her and she had been grateful for his guidance.

Then her thoughts turned to another whom had captivated her as soon as she set eyes on him. She chuckled to herself thinking of the fireworks that always seemed to follow the two of them. They were both stubborn and proud in many ways. For the first time she felt she had met her match in him and she was certain she would prove equal to his clever wit.

Closing her eyes she reached into her mind and thought about what it was that attracted her to Vaen. He was a powerful man to be sure with many friends and many enemies. Usually she stayed clear of such men for they tended to be pompous and overbearing. But in this case she could see so much behind those eyes.

"He has traveled a hard road with many disapointments", she said to herself.

She could see his passion for life, for justice and it drew her to him. She knew the road with him would be full of challenges but also with rewards.

"It should be interesting to see what the future holds", she thought to herself.

She smiled thinking of what may come of the two of them as she returned to her work in the garden.
