Dear Kotare,

I write to you with a heavy heart. Under the circomstances I must resign from the Yew Commonwealth. Our friendship withstanding I was appalled when it was related to me, several comments that you made at the Royal Court meeting the other night. I, in the confusion, missed them. Had I head then i would have asked you to leave and that you were overstepping not only our freindship but our association in the Royal Court and the Yew Commonwealth.

To threaten reprisials should I not bend to your wish, is totally unacceptable and I will not be bullied. Should you feel the words you spoke did not convey that then you may wish to come to the next Royal Court meeting and explain them.

Meanwhile I am resigning regretablly from your commonwealth. I will not be accused of being an accomplice in a crime nor will I be treated with such disrespect by a friend.

Lady Molly,

First I must say this: I regret that our two cities have come to a new low when it comes to relations. It grieves me that you would ignore the laws in which you as a member of the commonwealth were ment to uphold.

Under Article 1 Section B. Its states the following:

The Commonwealth has the right to enforce its laws upon any who fall under jurisdiction of the Commonwealth. Jurisdiction is noted in the following locations: The City of Yew (Both facets), The Dungeon Shame (Trammel only), Alliance member lands and holdings as well as where other governments allow jurisdiction. If a member of the commonwealth lives in an area controlled by another government, the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth is allowed only in the premises and up to 5 paces in front of the holding, one pace on each side and rear of the holding.

As you can see, I was acting within the accordance of the right of my government. You claimed to be a member of the commonwealth, which gave me the jurisdiction needed (had to be within premises and up to 5 paces in front of the holding, one pace on each side and rear of the holding.) However, I gave you the option of the decision. If you were to uphold your standing as a Commonwealth member, you would have then had the duty of detaining Thrax and his cohorts for questioning. Or, you could have kept your word and renounce your status as you are doing now. This was not a threat. It was never intended to be.

Do not presume that I forced your hand in this matter. You broke the relations with Yew over a criminal. A criminal wanted in the kidnaping of Lady Skirel of the Saints of the true Covenant who was poisoned during her captivity. Also kept in his custody was Lord Intannar's neice, Lady Nefariana, also of the Saints, under threat of death during the trial of Isk.

Also, from my list of things to mention, this man has a darker, much more sinister secret than he is willing to admit. This has only resently come to my attention. It is said that he is a demon who parades around in the form of a human. My source, is from those who know him best. So go ahead and ignore this threat if you dare choose.

Also, you posted a public notice stating that I am the Duke of Yew. As I grow tired of telling people this, I am the Duke of BlackWind. I do not rule Yew nor claim to rule Yew. Duchess Lilyth Noir has that honor. I am simply in the position to carry out her wishes. Please correct this oversight as I am not the Duke of Yew. There is no partnership in the Ruling of Yew.

But as you request, your resignation has been accepted and you have been dismissed as a member of the Commonwealth with no further obligations to the citizens of Yew or its government.

After a long afternoon sunbathing near the waterfall Lilyth heard hooves approaching. Few new of her little hideaway, though often lovers passed through to gaze upon the spectacular view. She rose from her spot in the warm Yew sun and walked back to the cottage. Kotare had arrived and was dusting himself off. "I thought you would be here" he spoke in a soft tone. "you know me well" was her only reply. He looked like the cat that swallowed the canary causing her to ask what had him in such a mood.

Kotare produced a letter from his pocket, Lilyth noticed the seal of the Royal Court and with a slight sigh she asked, "Is Lady Molly blind again or missing?" Kotare took a moment tapped his chin and said "neither love, it seems she is resigning from the Commonwealth." Lilyth looked with feigned shock, "I had forgetten she was even a member, I've not seen her in Yew in months, besides darling the loss is small her only interest in Yew was the Duke." Kotare smirked looking at his wife, "you are a truely wicked woman, no wonder I love you."

Hand in hand the two went back to gaze at the setting sun on the glittering waters.
