Dear Lady Lia:

I fear once again I do not write for pleasant reasons.

I learned last eve that the Order of the Ebon Skull has now taken the city of Minoc in addition to occupying Cove. Vesper now has enemies controlling its two nearest neighbors, and we are surrounded by darkness.

I would strongly suggest to you that you begin to prepare the Guardians for what might become a battle for Vesper. I see no reason the skullies, with their recent successes, would stop where they are and leave us alone.

I have quietly asked some trusted friends in Vesper to keep around the clock watches of all three of the city's overland entrances, and I also have eyes watching the seabound approaches. They have all been instructed to release pigeons to me if they have reason to believe the skullies may be attempting to enter Vesper.

I am confident the Legion of Justice will do what they can to drive the skullies out of Minoc, and I am going ahead with my plans to assault them in Cove in the very near future.

Hopefully Vesper will remain safe, and the dark ones will be pushed back to their borders in Umbra shortly.

*Lia retuns home after a long journey, looks in her mailbox and finds another letter from Max. She takes it and walks inside her home to her writting table, opens the letter reads it then sends a reply*

Dear Max,

I have heard rumors that the Order of the Ebon Skulls may take Minoc, now you tell me they have done so. This is not good news to hear. They have a hold in Sanctus, Cove, now Minoc I do not see them stopping there. It would take the light guilds coming together working as one to defeat such an enemy.

I will take thy advise into consideration. I have round clock patrols in Vesper and its borders. I am sure the Legion of Justice can handle their own city, but if they should need aid we might be able to help. Alessandra is a dear friend of mine and I think of her as my sister...


I agree hopefully Vesper will remain safe...
