Rufus slammed the door behind him as he walked through the doors of his estate. The last two nights promise to incite an anger in Rufus that was unseen. Firstly, his aquaintance with Vaen Swiftar in the Isle of Nujel'm. Rufus thought nay to step upon the isle again, but seeing Vaen about the sandstone structures, taking it's beauty for granted...it seemed to be an insult. It had proven that in trading his own activity about the streets of Nujel'm he would inject a new populace of wandering brigands who made the isle visually appealing. But his thoughts remained his own. Rufus would nay speak aloud of his past acts, his absence upon the isle, or even his whereabouts in regards to Sarah...

He walked through the house quickly, making his way to the master bedroom, waving his hands, allowing mystical energies to open the Dressers as he entered. He peered into the closet, pulling from it his hooded shroud. He carefully placed it upon his person before exiting the room. Rufus paused just as he met the top step leading to the first floor. He took in a deep breath; "I do grow tired of this. I am truely amidst two worlds these days. Never have I been so unsettled.." he brushed the marking under his eye, and walked with a hint of swiftness as he exited the large home. He narrowed his eyes, as particles of golden hues lifted from his person, and as he had experienced in the Well of Souls...the odd amber-like shades flared subtlely. His ethereal mount appeared; and with Rufus mounted atop it, they rode to the south....

The climate changed a bit as Rufus's steed trotted through the forests of Malas...twas a land he had grown used to but nay favored. His destination was Isk's home, nestled in a desert area a ways from Umbra. He worried of how the Magnate would greet him; for Rufus was aware that there were mixed feelings about in his absence of Nujel'm. And with Isk's straight-forward manner of speaking, he would greet Rufus in just that manner. Rufus approached the large Pyramid-like structure, his body cloaked in Ebon garbes. Isk met him at the stairs climax, "Might I help you?" Rufus raised his hooded head a bit, and nodded once, "Aye, that you might, friend Isk..." Angelique slowly approached Isk at his side. The former Sultan raised his dark hands, and pushed his hood back, exposing his face. Angelique's eyes met his face, "Ah, Rufus...Isk, invite the man in..." Isk turned slowly, gesturing that Rufus follow, "This way, Rufus.." Rufus acknowledged, and followed Isk into a large chamber that lay at the base of the building. Isk sat proudly at the throne crafted at the room's northern most wall...

Isk spoke, gesturing a bit with his hands as the words exited his mask, "What brings you here, Rufus? Here to bring word of you movements with your allies in Nujel'm?". Rufus narrowed his eyes a bit, "Allies? I do not know what you speak of Isk." Isk leaned forward a bit, "Oh? Vaen has instructed us that you do support his acquisition of Nujel'm." Rufus tilted his head a bit, "That is a lie...I have never spoken with Vaen concerning Nujel'm. In fact, tonight is the first time I have spoken with him since my absence." Isk sat back in his chair, "Oh, it is interesting that you say that. I do not think you understand the trouble you have caused. All be cause you wished to avoid conflict...a thing that would have never came about had you just remained in Nujel'm." Rufus paused a moment, chewing on his lip as he looked to Isk's emotionless mask, "I left Nujel'm with a vision. I hoped that my exit would instate a new life in the city. A grand return was envisioned; you should understand the symbolism involved with a ruler returning with ultimate promise to the peoples. I have plans...I planned months in advance; plans you and many others are involved in and still do not know..." Angelique looked to Isk, and then to Rufus, speaking calmly as she sit atop a bed of pillows, " How odd that the right hand would not tell the left what it was going to do......in a true alliance.

Isk tilted his head a bit, almost mocking Rufus..."Well then show where your true allegiance lay..." Rufus gave a smug look, as he turned and exited. He could feel Isk and Angelique's eyes peering at his back, as if he were an oddity...As if he were mad.

As Rufus found his way outside...He clenched his fist, drawing blood as he bit into his lip. He felt a surge of anger through his body...a very pure energy. He narrowed his eyes, as he heard Alarin's voice echo through his head, "Gundeth..." He brushed the marking under his eye as his bicep began to burn. He raises his hand to this tattoo, and looked to the North. In his sights lay the darkened Forest, and the city of Umbra. Rufus conjured his Ethereal steed, and began the trek to the new home of the Well of Souls...

He was so close to completing his first task...
