The tavern room of the DarkAdder was brighter and cheerier this day for Ditto, as she hummed a happy tune and wiped off the bar. Daerauko was safe and sound in a little basket beside her. His adventures with Silent Poet had so exhausted him that he'd slept most of the day, but ready for attention and play as soon as his bright blue eyes would open. Darmug and Nicodareus sat, relaxing from a hard day of training near by, and being there for double duty as both guard and taxers. Tarothin, working on plans with the archetects on a secret project, was away, but seemed happier and much more relieved as well. The worry and pain of not knowing where her son was, the dispute she & Tarothin had had, all had worked themselves out. Yes, all was well and happy once more in their felluccan town of Cove.
Just one thing nagged at the back of Ditto's thoughts. Isilmea. She had been nice enough to offer aid in helping find Daerauko. And had even let Ditto post upon the Sanctus board about it. Perhaps, Isil had just had a bad day when she was insuating that Tarothin & she were bad parents for letting Daer get lost in the first place. Or perhaps Tarothin's worry had been seen as temper and had frightened her into saying something foolish. Whatever the cause, Isilmea could not have possibly meant her words, as she had been nothing but kind in the past, so now Ditto felt that at the very least she should make the time and effort to Thank Isilmea in person for what she'd done to help in finding Daerauko. A visit to Sanctus was what should be done, and Ditto, not one for wanting to wait for much of anything, looked up at Nicodareus and Darmug, and smiled.
"I'll be takin Daer home and tuck him in for the servants now. And after that, I'll be headin ta Sanctus," she said, still smiling.
She noticed how Darmug glanced at her over his wine glass and how Nicodareus smiled quietly at her announcement.
"Well, I do think that I should be Thankin' Isilmea for tryin a little bit ta be helpful when Daer was missin. I owe her that much."
Darmug said he'd be going along as well to watch over her, while Nicodareus nodded quietly and began checking his equiptment while rising from the stool. As she was seeing to the baby and the men were getting ready to leave, one of the newer members of the Dark Order, Nadia, arrived. Finding out where they were off to, she announced that she too would go.
The trip had not gone well. At first they couldn't find Isilmea, and then she was there. Ditto had made her Thank you known and Isilmea, instead of retracting, apologizing, or even being nice about it in Ditto's eyes, had only confirmed that she thought Tarothin to be a bad father for losing his son, making a sugestion that they put a bell on the child in case it happened again. Normally Ditto was a hard one to anger, but, when it came to the people she loved...Ditto became dangerously angry at Isilmea's comments. The situation, though Isilmea seemed to remain calm, became tense as the two ladies made comments about each others men. Sensing the growing silence of those around her, and catching glimpses of regbags being checked and weaponry being readied, and knowing she herself, was close to mumbling out a spell or two in anger. Ditto backed off. She had come here to say thank you to a lady she once considered a friend, not to start a battle. In the past it may have been different. She was alone and only responcible for herself, but when she married Tarothin, she had, in a sense, married an entire guild. A guild that would go to war over a small incident if provoked. She refused to be responcible for a war. At least,..for this night.
Backing up and saying she was going back to the Adder, hoping that the soldiers would come as well, she created the portal to Cove.
After pacing up and down in front of the Adder, Ditto came to a conclusion. "Isilmea is a mean, snooty, and insinuating woman!" She yelled out to no one in particular.
And then...a snowball hit her. Ditto sputtered and wiped the snow from her face. Looking over, she saw Darmug grinning up at her, his hand holding yet another snowball. Chasing ensued and giggling and hiding, until Ditto's temper calmed itself and she realised just how tired she was. Hugging Darmug goodnight and thanking him for putting her in a better mood, Ditto hurried home.
Once inside the bedchamber, she slipped out of her sandals and looked across the room to the bed to see her husband sprawled out on the entire length of the bed. Grinning with the thought that even in sleep he hogged everything for himself. After throwing off her clothes, she tiptoed over and climbed in, adjusted her body so she snuggled up against him. The knee in her thigh would not do though...hmm..what to do? Should she softly but firmly nudge his knee out of her thigh or...
"Taro?" She said, shaking his shoulder. "Taro, wake up please."
She needed a reason to wake him up she supposed, so she'd just relate to him of what had happened in Sanctus earlier. And maybe then that hard knee would move from it's uncomfortable possition. Still not getting much of a response, or perhaps he was trying to ignore her..
"Cloudster! Wake up!" and shoved his shoulder hard. |

Suilad Mellonamin,
Your visit last night has weighted heavily on my mind. My common is not always so good and when I am tired it can become poor. I did not mean to imply you and your husband were not good parents. I meant to state more of being –new- parents.
When I got word your child was missing and last seen at Hanse with Poet, all was done to locate the child if the child was in deed in the Town of Sanctus. Cricket helped to inform anyone in the area and a reward was offered. It was when Poet showed up with your child in his arms and his claim of –showing the child all the Pub’s in the land- that the incident came to a happy ending. D'Kal Velous told Poet that you were searching the lands for your child and how worried you were. She told Poet to take the child home and to wait for you.
I wish you and yours well and hope we can put this matter behind us and remain the friends we were. Let us not fall into the hostilities that the males in our lives may display. Let us remain friends and do our best to see that all parties have peace.
Namaarie,
Isilmea’Locke
