For months, perhaps even a year, she could feel nothing. Only darkness.
But then something happened...
A scream of pain shouted out across her, tearing through what her senses had seen and what had been her torment for so long! It was as if the prismic cell around her was cracking, as magical forces began to fold in to each other, and before she knew it, a bright flash shot out. The next thing she knew, she felt a wonderous surge of senses, and could feel...could it be true?...he sight coming back. Slowly, she opened her eyes to see where she was, but she could only do it slowly. She had not used "eyes" in so long, and this whole experience was as if she was being reborn.
She opened her eyes, and looked around the room, seeing a dried corpse of some man, and many others who were just waking up from their eternal trap as she. As she began to feel around her, a sudden flash in her mind told her that she had ahold of something on her chest. With what she could muster, she dragged it to the floor and off of her so that she might take a look of it. It was a weapon, a kryss. For why she had a kryss she could think of no reason, but she did know that this kryss had to belong to someone. She began to rise to her knees, and observed where she had been entrapped for so long...
The room was very dim lit, with a few torches and such hung and lit upon the walls. There were shelves, that covered the entire four walls, and a staircase that lead up to some door that she would have to push open to get out of. Danie got up, and examined the shelves further. They seemed to be made to hold crystals, crystals that were all collapsed on the floor now, and that brought her attention to the dead man. He wore a robe, and strange blue colors. Danie knelt down to examine further, only to realize that her glove, her arms, her cape!, they were one and the same!
"What could it all mean?"
She slowly rose up, as the people, mostly young lass's of the sort, began to slightly panic in finding a way out. Danie looked to the staircase, and then looked around the room for anything she could use to help.
"A candle? No"
"A broom? No"
"A book? No"
...but then she took another look at the book. It had strange designs on it, and was red with symbols and the such. She knew it had to be no ordinary book, so she walked over to it to pick it up and read the contents.
"Spells"
She fragment of her memory came to the surface now, and she regained her experience with what she had learned as "magery". She read through the contents, and then flipped towards the chapter she last recounted that she was learning about. The 6th chapter, titled "The 6th Circle". She moved her finger towards a spell, read the incantation, and shut it, knowing she she must do.
"Step back everyone!"
The ladies looked to her, and to each other, and then moved to the side and out of her way. Danie pointed her palm towards the exit, and begin her incantaton... "Corp Por".
BOOM! A energy bolt flung out of her hand and into the doorway! An explosion rocked the walls around them, and after the smoke cleared they could see a light pouring down the steps that had led up to the doorway!
However, things turned grim, and the walls of the room began to crumble from the disturbance in its structure. The ladies rushed out of the room, and Danie quickly grabbed the kryss, and ran up to the stairs and out into a farm plot. It was dusk, but the surrounding about her brought even more questions.
She was standing in a farm plot with packs of hay wound up here and there. The ladies had run off down the road back to Moonglow, but Danie instead just remained to examine her surroundings. Forests, a path, the ocean...and...The White Tower?
She looked up at what had once been her school where her mentors, Ultima and Aerilyn, had begun to teach her about the world and its wonders, and about the evils and its morals. Memories flooded her now, and being as stunned as she was by them, simply had to sit down and let it all come in. She looked up at the tower, a tower that had once been her second home, a place she could respect, that she could learn, but no more. There had to be a link between that symbol that had stood for such much to her, and that hidden chamber of mystery that was no more...
With a sigh, she merely got up, brushed the dirt off of her, holding her book and the mysterious kryss, and left to town to think her thoughts through. |
