I've been ..what.....??? Rryn looked to her friend in shock, not knowing whether to laugh or cry or even both. " Kidnapped?"

The past couple of weeks had seen many changes and challenges for her. After leaving home, she had travelled far into the forest. Several nights she had the fortune to find the odd cave to sleep in. The cold ground such a contrast to her warm bed at home. Some nights she came upon gypsy encampments. Afraid of being seen and remembered, she would make a wide circle around these camps. Finnaly coming upon a small town, she had seen a familiar face. Debating the possibilities in her mind, she sat down upon a small step, hidden from view in an alley and wrote a quick message to the Lady.

Dearest Lady,
A friend is in desperate need of you. She waits just outside the town gates. It is most important we speak. You need not fear coming alone.

A young man was passing in the road and she quietly hailed him. Handing him several gold coins and the note, she asked him to find the Lady and pass her the note. He quickly accepted the coins, a bright smile playing upon his face as he thought of the many things he could purchase with such a windfall. He happily walked into the center of the town square.

"Lady Ivae Z'ress! I Have a message for the Lady Ivae Z'ress! Anyone here the Lady Ivae Z'ress?" he hawked out his message.

She watched as Ivae turned to the young man and took the message from his hands. Her husband, Regent Nazralte, was busy speaking to someone. Rryn knew she would recognize the symbol and know she was safe and that she must be quiet. She saw her hand the young man a few more gold coins and dismiss him. Saying a few words to her husband, she set off towards the town gate. Rryn whispered her name as she passed the small alley she was hidden in.

" Rryn! What a suprise! You could have just come....." her voice trailed off from happiness to concern when she saw the rumpled appearance of her friend. Rryn explained what she could briefly and the gravity of the situation that no one know where she was. Ivae quickly handled settling her into the Inn under an assumed name. The next morning they had left early, Ivae having concocted a plan and telling Nazralte that she was needed at home, but that he should continue his business trip. By the time they had arrived at Ivae's home, Rryn had explained everything in detail to her friend. They had both agreed , the last place Tai would think to look for her would be at the home of the Regent and his wife. As a bonus Rryn would have the expertise of Ivae's midwifery to assist her thru the pregnancy. The Regent was not expected to return before very long. They had time to plan.

Focusing back on Ivae, Rryn absently rubbed her now bulging stomach.
" ... and he said he had you and that Tai would never get you back. That you belonged to him now and that if any touched him, you and the babes would perish."
She was telling of how this man calling himself " Brother Void" was bragging at the Freehold Garden of how he had kidnapped her , how he was leaving clues for Tai, and that he would kill them all. He was using the rules of the freehold to allow him freedom and safety as he bragged. Ivae laughed " I swear everyone was on the edge of their seats , you could see them plotting ways to killl him. But I kept quiet, they have no clue you are here."
Rryn contemplated who could fabricate such a tale. Of course, she could only think of one person so sneaky as to come up with such a tale as this. Enough to stir the confusion and see that Tai was searching in all the wrong places. Hugh!
Ivae and Rryn sat talking for a good while after, sipping their tea and discussing all matters of ladies vanity. As the sun started to fade, Rryn excused herself and went to the small garden to watch the suns last rays leave the sky in a burst of orange and yellow. How she wished she could return home. Her thoughts depressed , she thought of how her husband would react to her disapearance when she returned. Would he understand she meant only to protect him and their unborn children? As she felt the movements within her, tears began to fall from her eyes.
