Alessandra was in her study in Nujel’m and realized she had not contacted Drayden about the house on Legion Island. She knew that he often went to the Freehold in the evenings to unwind and so she quickly finished up her work and spoke the words that placed her in front of the Freehold. She had not been there often since it had been rebuilt and she marveled at the beauty. She entered and stepped on the teleporter that took her to the roof. Looking around she noticed a small group of people sitting at one table and Drayden sitting alone at another. She laughed softly as she went over to his table. She could sense the people at the other table watching her, and she was not comfortable being the center of attention. She glanced back over and as she did she noticed they suddenly looked away. She shook her head and sat down at the table with Drayden and they began talking. She told him about the house and some of the ideas she had for redecorating it for him. He seemed genuinely interested, yet his attention kept getting drawn away to the other table. She sighed softly and asked if he wanted to see the home and he eagerly agreed.

They got up to leave and Alessandra overheard the one gentleman ask who she was. She smiled slightly to herself in amusement, for if they only asked she would gladly tell them who she was. As she was looking for the rune to Drayden’s new home a gentleman came down and asked who she was. He claimed he wished to speak to her in regards to a fishing route that was in Nujel’m waters. She smiled politely and told the man she would be happy to speak to him about that later in the week. She had spent so much time that day looking over paperwork for potential trade between various communities and Nujel’m that she was ready to retire for the evening. The gentleman seemed pleased with that outcome and he left. Alessandra found the rune for Legion Island and opened a gate for Drayden and herself that took them to the Stronghold and from there they walked to Drayden’s new home. She opened the door and began showing him around the house, explaining some of the ideas she had.

Suddenly Drayden took her gently by the hand and turned her around to face him. Alessandra’s breath caught as she looked into his sapphire eyes. The mixture of emotions swirling there caught her by surprise. She had not received a response to her last letter, so she did not know what to think. The next words out of Drayden’s mouth caught her even more off guard. ”I love you” he whispered so tenderly that it brought tears to her eyes. She sighed softly and replied “I love you too, I have since I have met you, but you were gone for so long...”[/i she trailed off and looked down. When she looked up Drayden was still watching her. He began to tell her of his journey, how he had never found his flamekin, Dialmon, and how when he returned he had been sure she had found another. Over the next few hours they sat and watched the sea and talked of their time apart, and how they had never found anyone to take each others place. It grew late and soon both were growing tired. Alessandra turned to Drayden and asked him [i/]“so what happens to us now?” Drayden reached out and pulled Alessandra to him and kissed her ever so gently. “We grow old together and never are apart… That is if that is okay with you?” He looked to Alessandra for her response and she smiled slightly and nodded before leaning up to kiss him in return.

Drayden saw Alessandra safely home before retiring to his own. Alessandra went to her study where she sat for a moment before pulling out a piece of parchment and she began writing.

My dearest Drayden,

Do you know how much I love you? Do you know how much I have thought about you? I have missed the comfort of your arms and the passion of your kisses. I know our love is pure and meant to be.
Tonight was the first of many that I hope to share with you. I am certain that I want to spend the entirety of my life with you. Nothing lends wings to my heartstrings like being with you. No one can command my every waking thought or alter the path of my dreams--only you. Tonight, as every night, I shall be dreaming about you and our future together, a smile on my face, and love in my heart.

My love for you will never fade,

Alessandra sealed the letter with a bit of wax and a kiss and sent it with her messenger to Drayden's home so it would be there when he woke up. She readied herself for bed and as she crawled in her bed she sighed happily. She hugged the covers close to herself, wishing that Drayden were there with her, but content knowing it wouldn’t be long until they would be together. She sighed happily and fell asleep to her dreams of the future.

Drayden was greeted by Raven as soon as he entered that evening. He took the letter and smiled, recognizing the writing on the outside. As he walked upstairs he opened it, reading. Oh Alessandra my love...it is good to have your affections again.

He sat down, pulling a piece of parchment and setting on his desk, weighing it down with an obsidian paperweight.

Dearest Alessandra,

You doubted that I would return for you? Surely you jest my love. For you have been within my thoughts ever since I left to find Dialmon. You were the one reason I returned. For the thoughts of your love and affection were all I needed to stay alive. We will live our lives together now. None shall come between us and I pity the man that threatens you again.

Things have changed so much. We have not the Order binding our feelings now. We only have our love everlasting which I shall give to you until I breathe my very last. I will see you tonight. In my new home, with the Legion beside me.

Drayden smiled and leaned back in his seat. The old feelings had not left, he felt like a young elf again, not the 450 years that he was. Once the ink was dry he carefully folded the letter and attached it to a single white rose from his garden, then summoned Raven to have it delivered to her home.

Things were changing for the better it seemed. He stepped outside onto the balcony and sighed, lighting his pipe and puffing thoughtfully on it as he watched the sun set over the ocean.

Alessandra read the letter and smiled to herself. She was happier than she had been in a long time. She recalled to Drayden's home, hoping to surprise him and drag him away for a few moments. Raven was there and welcomed her as she entered. To her dissapointment Raven said she had just missed Drayden by a few moments. She walked over to his desk and quickly penned a note for him...

My darling,

I am so happy to once again know your love. I have been working so hard that I have not taken the time to enjoy life. I would love to meet you this evening at the Freehold for a nice dinner. I will be there at 9:00pm and hope you will meet me there.

With a kiss she sealed the letter and left the message with Raven for when Drayden returned home.

When Drayden arrived he could still smell Aless' perfume in the room. He looked to Raven who only handed him the letter she had dropped off. He quickly opened it and his eyes widened. "Oh, by all thats holy." Drayden went pale for a moment and sat down at the table.

"Ye alright m'lord?" Raven asked looking concerned for his master."Yes...just a little light headed. Tonight could prove to be quite interesting Raven." Raven looked to him and laughed a bit "They're both meetin' ye at the same time I'll be guessin'?" With that said Drayden only nodded and headed up to his room to change....perhaps he should wear his battle gear, things might get rough tonight.
