Baron,

A close acquaintance of mine in Sanctus informed me that you have decided to grace the city once more with your presence, knowledge and experience. I would love to take this opportunity to welcome you back. However, with your return, there are adjustsments, some of which I am sure you have heard of, that you will need to cope with. I will be happy to highlight some of them for you.

The most obvious one, is that I have been installed in an administrative position for the city, as it's Protectorate and Guide for the new era. As such, my vision will be the vision of Sanctus. I strive to rebuild the once great city to the power it was. I assure you my intentions are in the right place, and if you have returned to better Sanctus, I am sure we can arrange something for you to work with me.

If you seek to retire to the private sector, I would love to have you as a citizen in our fair City-State. Be advised however, that I have decommisioned the old standing army as you once knew it, before your departure...this includes yourself. Sanctus' borders and security are supplemented by privately hired, screened and trained guards who are well equipped to handle any situation we may face as a city. If you are interested in joining the ranks of the standing army once again, speak with me personally and I am confident that we will come to an agreement.

I have a vision...I have the means...I have the know-how...and I have the motivation. I have nothing short of the utmost confidence that our city, that I stood along side you myself and helped build, will reign again.

A young squire brings Major Mordegan a sealed letter

"Sir, a letter has arrived for thee"said the squire as he handed over the letter to Major Mordegan.

"Thank you" Baron says as he accepts the letter

"Hmmmmm, strange seal" thought Baron as he opened the letter.

It read:

Taking a deep breathe after reading this letter Major Mordegan sat back deeply in his chair in front of the fire.

"Lord Bailos doth not know where my loyalties fall"he thought" This could prove useful in our efforts."

"I must consult with the Council on this matter"he thought while preparing to respond to the letter from Lord Bailos.

Lord Bailos,

Thank you for these kind words in welcoming me back to the City-State of Sanctus. I have missed it greatly in my travels to other lands and my heart yearned for the comfort of its borders.

You are correct in thinking that I find myself in a state of adjustment with all that has happened in my absence. There are questions that I have that need answers and I am sure once I have settled in proper lodgings I would like to invite thee to my estate for a meal in order to be informed properly on all that has happened. I do understand that ye may be quite busy with other duties that a meal might be steal you away from your busy duties. However, I found in the past that sometimes those in power just need to get away from the duties that bind them.
