The note from the mysterious guest was simple.
"Slip some of this in her drink, she will become unconscious. She will wake in several hours, when she does, be certain your voice is the first one she hears. Then she is under you spell. You will have three days"
Neatly folding the note, Bailos glides effortlessly up the stairs to the Candlelight Inn. Dawn was just cracking and Sadira still slept. Ascending the teleporter to Sadira's kitchen and work area, the Wraith Lord melded with the shadows and waited for his prey....
Hours pass...
"There she is, that little harlot. Go over to your stove." He thought silently to himself, watching her as she shuffled about her workspace.
Sadira parked firmly infront of the sink and was washing off some freshly picked vegetables. Oblivious to her surroundings, she hummed a sweet melody that Zarlox has serenaded her with the night before, their love had been blossoming so these last few days.
Emerging from the shadows, the Usurper-King floats up behind her, passing the table, and grabbing a large skillet on his way. As he nears her, he rears back, skillet overhead, and slams it down sending the cast-iron contraption into direct collison with her cranium...she falls to the floor...
Hoisting her up into a nearby chair, he prepares a glass of water, mixed with the curious potion he was given...and now, he waits.
One hour...two...three....four...
She stirs...
As her eyes slowly open, he says nothing but shoves the glass of water in front of her and hands her a pack of ice for her head. With a curious look, she accepts the help, still not fully aware of her own location or situation
"Drink up, trollop" he thinks to himself...cracking a grin, oh so subtly.
As the water, and the potion, course through her veins, Sadira finds herself helplessly drifting off. The ice pack plummets to the floor and the glass of water shatters nearby; she is asleep....and now, he waits.
One hour...two...three...
Her eyes blink open...she struggles to open them again, but she manages. His shadowy outline fills her line of sight as she struggles to readjust to the now fading daylight.
Wake up, my dear...
A voice fills her head, subconciously echoing, reverberating, unending. It courses through her very veins now. Her mind was his...
My voice is only one you need hear. Listen and obey. *he leans in close to her, his face hovers near her ear as she lay there almost motionless, as if waiting for his very permission to move* Get your rest, and recover. I need you at full strength. For tomorrow night, you will crown me King
With a father's care, he picks up Sadira and carries her down to her bed. Resting her gently on the covers, he blankets her with a quilt and tucks her in soundly. Before leaving, he leans close, kisses her forehead and whispers softly....Good night, my Golden Bargaining Chip

Sadira was feeling positive for the first time in a while. Her faith in the virtues slowly returning. Her love for Zarlox growing ever so stronger. She felt something was amiss when she went up to her kitchen that fateful morning. But she just passed it off as her nerves. Lord Bailos had given her permission for the renovation of the Inn, as she wished to make it into a Memorial. She was about to try a new dish, that he had yet tried, when suddenly a sharp throbbing pain coursed down her body from her head and all went black. When she finally was about to come to, her vision was abit fuzzy. As her eyes finally focused, she saw Bailos. She wanted to say something but her mouth was so parched..and her head...the headache was pounding. She took the proffered glass and ice pack. She was pleased, it as as if he was reading her mind. Then again, that made her abit cautious as well. The ice pack felt good upon that goose bump on the back of her head, and the water...was cool and refreshing. That is all she recalls as the room became blurry and then dark, once again. This time she awoke, with the sounds of Bailos voice echoing softly to her. Her mind seemingly quite taken with it..absorbing it like dry ground absorbs the rainfall. She just smiled as he scooped her up into his arms. She nodded in agreeance with the crowning of the king comment. As he laid her down in bed, her eyes closing as if bidding to his will of her to rest. She snuggled up under her blankets. The last words of Bailos just faded softly in her mind, as it began to drift off into slumber. _________________ "Nature gave man two ears but only one tongue.
