Mallory looked around her new home, pleased with the decorating. It wasn't a large house, but it was hers and it was her home. Situated on the north side of the island she could look out and see the ocean and the sound of it gently lapping the shore was pleasant and peaceful. She went up to the garden roof and sat looking out at the ocean. Her mind drifted to the man that had stolen her heart. She worried for she had not heard from him and his guildmates did not know where he had gone. Her dreams were becoming more and more vivid. She wished he was there to hold her and make her feel safe. She pulled a piece of parchment and placed it on the table in front of her and began to write...


My darling,
Where you are I am not sure, but I pray that the virtues are keeping you safe and bringing you closer to me. The dreams have returned, and while I wish I could say they were only of you, I fear that is not true. I do not know what to make of the changes that have occured. Vaen and others of the guild have seemed to mysteriously vanished, and while the peacefulness of the island is welcome, there is a strange feeling that has surrounded my very soul. I wake at night and I feel as though I am running, but what it is I am running from I am not sure. I continually watch over my shoulder, but I do not know what it is that I am looking for. Please hurry back to me, so I can once again feel safe within your love and your arms.

She tied the note and one of the few remaining roses with a single green ribbon. She took the note to the Vesper house and left it there for Smiticles' return.
