The visage appeared before the gathering clearly with the virtuous powers of James M`Real, the Lord in gold yet the wear and tear of his armor showed the dangers of the realm he was in. And every hour he remained tested his life more. The light of the man and his hopes still shone brightly to those that followed in his footsteps as we watched on from the benches. The cathedral was silenced while the Lord of Sanctus spoke unto them.
He brought General Zarlox to become the crowned prince, and Sanctus to soon become a kingdom. But to achieve all that the city is capable of becoming, the return of the Lord needs to be accomplished. That's when the requests were issued, the riddle was answered.
"Eight is the number, and Eight is the key to the puzzle you seek, Eight is the riddle the quesiton and the answer, what lyes bewteen is the riddle A Crown, A Brotherhood and spirits"
The image of Skyfire doned eight of those present to tend to one task, search out a shrine and obtain a gemstone and a shard of metal from the shrine and return it to sanctus to be forged.
Now, Arakad stood before the moongate stareing into tis depths as he pondred the quest at hand. Granted the quest is of honor and achievement to be involved in, he could not help but hesitate.
He has never been one to hold true to any of the virtues, seeing them as mockeries placed upon the land by a long forgotten king. But now he was placed before a virtue he had been following all along. He was to make his way to the shrine of Justice, and there he would find the items he sought.
A voice, a whisper soft as the wind chiping away at the dark recess of his memory slowly seems to skirt up to his acknowledgment ~"already turning your back to the people; not even a Lord yet and you've turned traitor, you're faster than your old man...~
Giving a gutteral growl behind the black mask, Arakad took a step into the gate and steping out within Yew just outside of what once he knew of as the Druids Grotto. He took a quick glance to the glistening new trees and life that sprung about the place and gave a slight smile before calling up the armored steed and setting it forward north by north west.
~what no hello? I"m hurt truely I am, now tell me where are you going? Regardless I can tell you where you should be going...~
A gutteral voice not quite human yet not beastial, the man quietly spoke against the trees rushing by him "Out of my head you bastard, I know where I need to go."
An almost chilling laugh, Arakad could swore was coming from the glistening pines that he rode swiftly past ~You should head towards Wind, towards the true shrine, the only virtue that stands to its meaning. Many have come to it and given in to the grasp of reality as of late. And only one will matter. Come back into the fold, follow your fathers steps, and take your place within the army at hand.~
"I hold no virtue over another, nor do I bid any service to any of the virtues of this land, so you can take that shrine and shove it up my fathers ass, in that crypt where it belongs." With uncanny ease Arakad steered the armored mare between trees and around the penninsula towards the shrine of scales. Where all must be judged. |

The forest grew thick as Arakad neared closer to the shrine and the houseing that inhabited the area, few creatures seemed to occupy the forest here...far to few than there should be.
Bringing the armored mare to a strut he led it around the houses towards the four warrior pillars he could see in the distance, the air was rich of fire and smoke. A camp..gypsies...no...Brigands. Four of them, three humans and an elf witch.
Dismounting the steed and sending it safely on its way, the dark clad man made his way towards the group that made its camp before the shrine. ~Yes...yes...you know you want them, take your anger out on them. They hinder your job~. The kitsune fur boots gently breaking through the blades of dew moistened grass, a gloved hand reaching to his back to unshackle the ornate guardian axe that rested there.
It didn't take long for the first human to notice there was a fifth member amongst their ranks, with the heavy runed blade slicing neatly down his unarmored back before the brigand could let out a yelp. "Mind if I join the party."
The other two men quickly gathered up their arms, one a spear of not so exceptional quality. The other drawing a long sword, in the shadows of the shrine archway Arakad could just make out the chanting of the elf arcanist.
"Murderer! The first brigand lept forward with the spear just as Arakad swooped with the axe, catching the shaft of the polearm and tossing it upon the campfire "That's Arakad, not Murderer." sending a round house boot to the right temple of the man's head, the platemail leggings within the fur covered foot breaking through their cushioning to leave a deep gash into the man's skull all the while Arakad mumbling out loud to the man "lesson from the Otori you bastard"
The frontal attack left him open as the second assailant came up behind sending the longsword deep into the crease links of Arakads chainmail. Swirling the axe around he used the momentum of the attack sending the heavy axe into the man's groin, the blade alone would have left a mess of damage but the cold attack from the blade only heightened the wound, as Arakad pulled the axe out noticable frost bitten chunks of flesh fell from the blades grove.
"Anathrae!" from the distance the elf called out, sending a brush of ice cold winds from the shrine, the breeze like daggers of ice cicles stabbing into the mans armor and open flesh. "Now lady... you done went and pissed me off!"
At rushing speed, Arakad ramed towards the archway, the large axe out to his side ready for a quick and final slice. The womans focus quickly caught off guard from her casting as the blade sank through her abdomen, pushing deeper into the woman, Arakad came in close with a whisper "I .. Hate.. the cold" the glisten of the womans eyes pale against the light of the shrine, her life slowly deminishing upon his axe as he brings a foot up he kicks the woman off his blade and against the ankh of the shrine, her body slumping onto the stairs.
Blood caked Ornate Axe in hand, Arakad approached the Ankh, the dark gray eyes transfixed upon the glow the candlebra's gave to the ankh. Kneeling down he pulled off the womans money purse and tossed it into the shrines offerings..."My Tithe is done" His animal kin gaze looked over the small area of the shrine at the offerings, scales of gold and silver, coin, and a small pile of gemstones. Reaching down he pulled out a perfectly shaped emerald and a bronze scale..."I'll smelt you down later"
~without hesitation you killed four people tonight. And you claim you denied me. My son...my follower. Embrace what is given you. We will meet again soon.~ His gaze went back up to the shrine as he the lights glistened against the fresh blood upon the base. He couldn't help but think of the sight looking as though the ankh were bleeding...Justice in blood. "My kind of justice..."
Turning from the shrine, Arakad made his way for the forests edge the thoughts of the voice haunting in his mind, and the actions of the night replaying themselves. Bringing the gloved hand to the mouth of his mempo mask he gave a whistle; the armored mount galloping back into view. "Now to finish this task and get the items to Sanctus". |
