Limping her way to the healer in Vesper, Brianha could not help but think of all that had happened in the past months and how much it had changed her. The wound was still bleeding and Bri just did not have the care to deal with it herself.

As she opened the door and slowly made her way towards the healer, he looked up with a frown. “Tis been nay a few months since I last saw you child.” He looks her over and sees the blood dripping slowly down her shirt. Shaking his head he gently takes her in his arms and carefully deposits her onto a bed where he can tend to her wound. “This better be the last time I see you for a good long time” Carefully he removes her shirt and gently touches and probes the wound to see the extent of the damage. “Tis not going to kill you at least” he smiled softly and gently touched her forehead “Rest now child and when you wake I shall have you good as new” Bri felt the darkness creeping around her eyes as she stared at the ceiling. Within moments she was in a half dream state with only her thoughts as company.

She was all alone now, were the thoughts consuming her mind. She had not heard from her guild mates in many months now nor had she and Kay had any correspondence. “Perhaps it is not our time” she thought in her dazed state.

It felt as if she had lost her friends and family when she had plunged into the world of what everyone insisted on calling the “dark side”. It was as if her being part of that world made her cease to exist with them in this world. It had separated her from them and created a wall that would be hard to break down.

To her she learned much about herself and those of the “dark side”. They were not the ogres everyone made them out to be. In fact Lord Norture had taught her to open her mind to other possibilities. She would not forget his kindness in that regard. It was true she could not follow their ways, there was too much that she disagreed with but much that she understood and did agree with. Thinking to herself she believed everyone had a side to themselves that they did not want to recognize because it would create chaos in their lives.. it would make everything they believed in become questionable. It would change them, and most people did not like change. Well Bri had her fair share and contemplated what she should do now.

“Wake up child” the healer softly nudged her awake. “You are healed and ready to go home”. He looked down at her softly but with a frown “And as I said this better be the last time you seek me out for a long time” Bri smiled back up at him and nodded as she gathered her things to journey home. “I will try my best to stay out of trouble for a while” she said with a sad smile. Slowly walking out the door she looked back and gave him a wave of thanks.

Upon reaching her home she made her way to her bedroom and slowly sat down amongst her many books covering her floor. Letting her head fall she allowed herself to cry for a moment. “I think it is time for me to take a leave of absence” she sadly said to herself. “There is no one here who wants or needs me and it might do me some good to have a journey where I might recover some of myself… maybe that innocent and carefree Bri is still in there somewhere” Nodding to herself that she had made up her mind she stood and packed a small bag for a journey that would take her she knew not where or how long. Pondering on scribing a letter to one of her guild mates she sighed and put her quill away “they will not notice my absence” She had sought them out on many occasions and never could find them. Something was going on in the guild house for it was being taken apart and rebuilt. She wondered briefly if Max felt as she did.. if he too felt alone and maybe had taken his leave as well, after all when was the last time she had seen him. Perhaps the house had been sold. Painfully she looked out the window and took a last look at the guild house and then at her cousins’ house.

Ready for her journey she rode her mount into Vesper to inquire on renting her house. It just so happened that there was a man looking for something. After questioning him she felt he would be trustworthy enough to rent and care for her house while she was away. Looking at the man who was very tall and a bit intimidating she spoke her last request to him. “Dageus, I need you to care for my pet parrot Churchill as well. And should anyone inquire of my absence you only know that I am on a journey, you are not to tell them any details, is that acceptable?” He looked down on her troubled face and wished he could wipe away the grief he saw in her eyes.. “Aye lass, dinna you worry o’er you house.. tis in good hands” She nodded and turned sharply on her heels leaving the tavern and leaving her homeland for how ever long it must take her to heal within.
