Duncan's Story

I was born Duncan Leonhart in the City of Yew. My father’s name was Jon Leonhart. My mother’s name was Maria Leonhart. Both belonged to a Secret Order of Paladins Known as the Crimson Cross. They both fought for Lord British in the war against the Shadowlords. Sadly both lost there lives in the war and left me an Orphan at the age of five. The Monks too me in and taught me about the virtues. One day a Young Man named Conner Mcbane came to the Abbey. He and his family had just arrived in Yew. I grew attached to him and his sons. He also grew attached with me and adopted me, so i moved with him and his family to Britain. I help farm the lands and learned many trade skills from Conner when I was young.

When I was 17 I was mining the mountains just outside of Britain when I heard what sounded to be a battle near by. I went to look, when I got closer to the battle it wasn't a battle at all but two people sparring. I was in complete awe of there skill and of the sparring that I lost track of time. When I returned home that night I had failed to mine out what Conner my father needed. I told him of the battle and how interesting I found it to be. He knew then it was time. He opened a chest and handed me a war axe and war fork. He said it is time to train you in the art of battle using these weapons.

I trained for months finally grasping most of what Conner had taught me. Then one day he woke me and said that it was time for me to seek out the Kingdom of Stormhaven where his eldest son had gone. So I traveled towards the Kingdom that he spoke of knowing not what to expect. When I arrived I saw the same two that I had saw days earlier sparring. I walked up to the two and introduced myself. They right off knew the last name and asked me if I was the brother of Justus Mcbane. I told them who I was and they introduced themselves to me.

One was James M'real, Lord Paladin of Stormhaven and the other was Cyrus the Holy, High Priest of Stormhaven. They asked me what brought me to the Kingdom I told them I wish to join the Kingdom and to become a Paladin one day. They asked me of my skills. I told them and they said wonderful but you haven't been any battles. I said Nay I haven't yet. so they said we will take you under our wing and train you well my friend. So that evening I met the Queen and as Father Cyrus and James M'real as my sponsors I joined the Kingdom of Stormhaven and began my training as a Paladin. That is how I Sir Duncan Mcbane came to be with Kingdom of Stormhaven, a place I truly and dearly call home.
