The Necromantic Paths

Path of the Fiend

A Necromancer of the Fiend is a master of the demonic arts, and a scholar of the infernal to the highest degree. He is crafty of tongue and quick to anger, but a magical force beyond mortal comprehension. Thusly most necromancers who depend upon the forces of the abyss are eventually driven mad by the demonic taint and energies…. Such is the price for unimaginable power.

Path of Blood

The Necromancer of Blood is a relentless martial force to be reckoned with. Their knowledge of anatomy, forensics and death has lead them to be able to deal death as well as any Knight or Warrior. If drawn into battle, the other necromancers should look to this mage as a leader whenever the High Necromancer or Necrosavant is not available.

Path of Flesh

The Necromancer of Flesh is a tireless worker. Their will to complete tasks, even menial ones, is unfailing. This focus allows them to research and find the smallest details that may be missed by a less dedicated mage. Their duties include the gathering and organization of gatherings for raw materials and reagents for the sect.

Path of Shadows

The truest of all knowledge is always hidden in the deepest of recesses. This Necromancer is a master at finding, cataloging and inscribing this information. The Necromancer of Shadows is the keeper of the necromantic library and the obtainer of new texts from all over Sosaria. Knowledge is power, and we must possess it.

Path of the Arcane

The Necromancer of the Arcane is an artificer of the highest skill. Their knowledge of magical places and magical tools is second to none. This Necromancer is charged with maintaining the Scholomance Runic Library, as well as adding new runes to places that become of interest and import.

Path of Sin

The Necromancer of Sin is a paragon of the anti virtues. Their understanding of evil is complete. Sin, like a cancer, grows. Malevolent and unforgiving, they watch for those who would let their guard down and allow the Order to grow in its place. The expansion of Caina, the acquisition of rare magical and Necromantic items and the glory of the Order are the driving motives of this Necromancer...

Path of Corruption

The Necromancer of Corruption has a snake's tongue and a razor keen mind. Their knowledge of The Order, it's history, it's membership, it's requirements and it's operations are essential. This Necromancer works with all sects to help indoctrinate them in the ways of the order with classes in the Scholomance and "field trips" to various light-bringer strongholds

Path of the Paegan

The Necromancer of the Paegan is a font of Necromantic and Paegan rituals, herbal use and the dead. They are masters of a magic long dead. The Order hopes to one day revive the lost magic, but until that time The Paegan Necromancer is our living encyclopedia of the lost art. They will design rituals, gather Necromantic Reagents from the few places that they still spawn and teach new Necromancers our history and the history of our art.

Path of the Soul

A necromancer who walks the path of souls concerns himself with the dead, and solely the dead. He has learned the book of the dead, and other dark books of necromancy. The necromancer who walks the path of the souls concentrates on binding and controlling the souls of the already dead. He will either enslave the will of the dead, or destroy them and send them back to death. This necromancer maintains the balance of death and life, learning from the more powerful dead to destroy and control the weaker ones. The necromancer of the souls is a fount of information concerning the dead, and can often times traverse death and summon spirits to him. The necromancer of the souls is a sage of death, and gifted magi of darkness.

Path of Spirits

The Necromancer of spirits understands that the greatest power of the arcane is the ability to puppet the mind. The ability to manipulate creatures, people, and objects is the traffic of this scholar. The Necromancer of Spirits must be able to command the creatures of the land as well as the mystic arts. The ability to command a legion of beasts to defend the strongholds of the necromancers or act as a wall of flesh until other support can arrive is tantamount. The flesh is a fetter, meant to be used and thrown away, the mind and the spirit is where true power lies.

Path of Dominance

This Necromancer is the embodiment of Darwinism. Physically powerful and magically adept, this path strives for the death of others. Unlike the Path of Blood with is a guiding militant force, knowledgeable in large-scale battles and group tactics, the Path of Dominance cares little for mass melee. This juggernaut of destruction lives for one thing The Challenge. A duel is never refused, a fight is never walked away from, a foe is never given mercy.

Path of Bone

This Necromancer is a master of the dirge. Magic and music blend together to drive beings to madness or lethargy. Able to craft the most solemn hymns or the most driving war chants, this mage is a reflection of the two-sided coin that is the Necromancer. Quick of wit and mind, the Guide of the Path of the Bone is a force to be reckoned with for mage and warrior alike.

Path of Malice

A necromancer, who follows the path of torment, has lived a life of exactly that: torment. His life has been torture unto his mind and soul. He has sacrificed his mentality, to bring this type of life onto others, so that he does not have to suffer alone. He has taught himself the means to do this, and is a deadly master in the art of torture, and uses his mind to confuse others, only luring them into his ensnaring trap. His very existence is to bring confusion and pain to others, and he is devoted to it. A painful death is to those who would cross his path.

Path of Enmity

A necromancer, who follows Enmity, hates the very existence of life. He does not believe in the necessity of life, and only wishes to spread death wherever he steps foot. He accepts his life, as it is but a tool of Oblivion to bring unlife. At the end of his existence, the necromancer swears his soul into lich-form, and continues to reap the souls of the ignorant, of those that oppose Oblivion's will. The deep-seated hatred for life takes its toll on the necromancer, and his life is severely shortened, mostly by self-will.

Path of Oblivion

The Necromancer of Oblivion is a seer, an oracle. Things that have come to pass are a gateway to things that will be and things that are but shadows of the void. By staring into the Void that is Oblivion, one may see everything in the nothing. This path teeters on the brink of madness and the edge of reality. Touched by the hand of Oblivion itself, this necromancer is marked for all time.
