Title: 8/25/24 Minutes
Author: Rizan
9:14: King Blackthorn arrives, greets the Governors, and begins the meeting.
9:16: Governor Rizan speaks for Yew. He says that he has only two points to bring up on the agenda this evening; the first, that Sofina the Royal Investigator was successful in tracking down the creatures plaguing the woods around Yew. She discovered it was in fact two giant horse-like creatures, leading to some of the discrepancies in description by the foresters. Given the disagreement over the name, one was dubbed a Yew-nicorn, and one a Un-acorn. Sofina was successful in capturing one, and Governor Rizan commends her for her efforts. Second, he informs the King that Governor Tatiana Thorn was present at the meeting but had to leave before His Majesty arrived, and that Governor Happy Daze had notified Governor Rizan that he would be late for tonight's meeting. With nothing else remarkable to report for Yew and business there continuing as usual, Governor Rizan concludes his report.
9:20: Governor Shadowyke speaks for Vesper. Governor Wyke thanks His Majesty for his quick action in resolving the situation involving the dragon turtle infestation. Cleanup is ongoing in the canals of Vesper, and the damage they caused is being repaired. There will be more updates on the progress next meeting. She concludes her report.
9:23: Governor Halister Marner speaks for Moonglow. Janitor Scruff is ill from eating too many Ophidian rations and cannot attend this evening. The Governor states that he wishes he could bring a more positive report, but he comes with terrible news. The investigation into the erstwhile assassin revealed a massacre. The 70 missing civilians were located, all horribly murdered by the Council of Mages. Moonglow is in mourning. The work of Governor Rizan and other investigators have pulled a great deal of information from the crime scene, Governor Halister continues, which will be compiled to present a case against the Council shortly. While Governor Halister would ordinarily request the might of the King's forces be brought down upon the land as a consequence, there have been some roadblocks in locating the Council of Mages on Verity Isle. They are hiding their presence through advanced magics. Governor Halister proposes a solution to the problems at hand, pointing out a book that he had distributed to the Governors and to His Majesty. The book regards the Hall of the Silver Serpent. The Governor has wondered about the properties of that locale, and why advanced magics seem to have trouble functioning within. He believes there is a reason behind it: an item hidden within the Hall. When the evening ends, the Governor of Moonglow petitions His Majesty to allow Scribe Amaris to open a gate to the Hall, that the item may be located. After that, he proposes to lead those who would follow him to his solution to the problem. His Majesty says he will send Scribe Amaris to speak with Governor Halister after the meeting. The Governor concludes his report.
9:32: Governor Rain, recovered from her poisoning, speaks for Trinsic. The King inquires after her health, and gives credit to Royal Investigator Sofina for her help in raising an army of citizens to take down the Scorpion Queen and procure the cure for the poison. The scorpion infestation seems to be lessening. Trinsic's citizens are in good spirits, and things seem to be getting back to normal. Trades are on the rise. The only concern Governor Rain mentions is of a Scorpion King, but she has seen nothing of him. Governor Rain ends her report.
9:36: Governor Toni McStravick speaks for Britain. Following Sofina's investigation fo the Yew-nicorns, things seem to have settled down. Recently the Governor has noticed an increase in crowds within the city. His Majesty too has noticed, and asks the Governor if she has any idea what might be causing the crowds. Governor Toni noticed that when she neared, some of the citizens seemed to be yelling obscenities, and they all seemed to be wearing the same pendant, which seems to move when closely inspected. Governor Rizan mentions having observed the same phenomenon. It seems to have affected citizens of all walks of life: farmers, healers, mages. His Majesty says he will send someone to look into it tomorrow evening, and encourages all present to assist in tbe investigation into what may be affecting the citizens, and end it. The Governor ends her report stating it is her sole focus to find the solution or the source. His Majesty makes a note of the oddity.
9:42: Governor Merlin speaks for New Magincia. Magincia is quiet. The waves are smooth and there's not a pirate flag in sight. His Majesty makes a note to keep an eye on New Magincia, as "Quiet" is a bad word that seems to be a prelude to a storm. More progress has been made on construction in New Magincia. A new public crafting house has been opened behind the Governor's mansion. The next project is, as previously mentioned, an animal hospital. Information will be forthcoming, and then there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for all three buildings when complete. That aside, the shores are quiet, and Governor Merlin concludes his report.
9:50: Governor Craig the Mongbat speaks for Jhelom. His Majesty inquires as to whether there are any issues with Ziggy, aluding to the journal that Jhelomnian scribes were able to reconstruct more of and a copy of which was furnished to the Governors and the King. Governor Craig asks if Governor Halister would be willing to lend the aid of a few scribes, as the Jhelomite scribes seem to be a tad slow and may not fully know what they're doing in the reconstruction of the burned documents. Governor Craig inquires as to the status of one of Britain's citizens, a "Mister Buldarn" who has come up a few times in the journals; the Governor suspects he may know more. Governor Toni mentions that she has not met this individual yet, though she promises to keep watch and find out what she can. Governor Craig finishes by mentioning that he is still missing some couriers, roughly two and a half feet tall, light brown fur, who respond to hard candy. The Governor requests if any see the mongbat couriers, that they be sent back to Jhelom immediately. The rest of the city fares well, and Governor Craig concludes his report.
9:57: Lord Cogniac speaks for Serpent's Hold. The Hold continues to stand as a bulwark against darkness and fares well. The coffers remain high, though they remain stagnant with the current and ongoing re-investment concerning the SARS. Lord Cogniac has also handed out the first edition of the SOTA (State of the Arrows), which reports that the SARS is now up to over 1.36m arrows, and also contains prices on arrows and bolts for every vendor in Sosaria. Lord Cogniac is open to suggestions for what other information can be included in future reports.
10:01: Governor Happy Daze arrives.
10:01: Lord Cogniac continues, mentioning that the scouts have returned with more information about rumors of a "Cube Cult." This cult may be behind the Conglomerated Mayham Abbatoirs. The Order will continue to search for more information. Grandpa Charley of Ilshenar continues to request the removal of the empty pig pen near his own farm, as toxic and sometimes magical runoff seems to affect his farm. Lord Cogniac concludes his report.
10:06: Governor Happy Daze speaks for Minoc. Since last report, the elemental problem in Mount Kendall has been resolved. The Governor apologizes for missing the last council session, as he was actively helping to quell the threat. The city's coffers are full, trades are up, and mining efforts are back in full swing. Shipments of zoogi fungus have been seecured for experimentation for a new type of alcohol. All is well and there is nothing sinister to report. Governor Happy concludes his report.
10:09: King Blackthorn asks if anyone has anything else to mention. Governor Rizan mentions that the adventurers were forced to retreat from the Yewnicorns, and more combatting against their threat may be necessary. Sofina should be consulted. Jay the Bard of Moonglow speaks up mentioning a request: there is a cleanup officer in New Haven, but no barrels or chests to dispose of trash, and requests for one to be placed there. His Majesty makes note of the request. His Majesty mentions that this is a request best presented to the Grand Architect.
Cogniac speaks, and adds to Rizan's addendum, mentioning that the Order's scribes theorize that the Yew-nicorns may have been caused by the girl Sadie, whose creations adventurers had encountered previously. There is a theory that she might be used by the Cult behind the abbatoirs to generate new sources of meat. His Majesty does not wish to place blame unduly upon the poor girl, and that the matter will be investigated in due time.
10:18: King Blackthorn concludes the meeting.
