Title: 9/29/24 Minutes

Author: Rizan

9:02: His Majesty arrives, begins the meeting. Governor Rizan informs His Majesty that Governor Happy will be detained with work, and His Majesty was aware of the absence of Governor Craig.

9:05: His Majesty calls on Governor Toni McStravick to begin, and she speaks for Britain. Britain has been quiet after last month's incident involving the unsettled citizens. Investigations were commenced immediately after the last council meeting, and it was found that the citizens seemed to be under the control of an amulet which bore the image of a writhing cephalopod. The incident was seemingly orchestrated by Azazel of the Fallen, Daemon of Odium. The investigation led the adventurers to an altar where the axe Heartbreaker was found, though the Governor wonders how it had been stolen in the first place. The axe was reclaimed and returned to the armory with additional guards in place to secure it. The city coffers are full, trades are progressing well. Governor Toni concludes her report.

9:10: Governor Halister Marner speaks next for Moonglow. His Majesty had heard that Moonglow was a bit shaken up. The Governor responds that the Council stole something very important from royal Scribe Amaris, and His Majesty responds that she was left in quite a state. Governor Halister says that the mages were routed, and the "item" was recovered. The Governor continues his report, stating that Moonglow is ready for war. The Council of Mages has been torturing the citizens of Moonglow and Verity for far too long, and presents His Majesty with a copy of Attrocities of the CoM, along with a note that was proof of their intentions to murder the Governor of Moonglow. The Council murdered several dozen citizens in a horrific manner, including a young girl named Madeline. Finally, the Council members at the end of the last meeting ventured into the Hall of the Silver Serpent to retrieve the Orb of Nystul, a potent anti-magic item. It has been placed on an Amplifier, bathing all of Moonglow in an anti-magic field that has revealed the Council's bases. The Governor has infused Moonglow with a great deal of gold, they are armed and ready to free Verity Isle from the Council of Mages' grip. The Governor officially asks His Majesty to send his forces to purge the Council of Mages from Moonglow. His Majesty promises to review Governor Halister's request, and the Governor concludes his report.

9:18: Governor Tatiana Thorn speaks for Skara Brae. All fares well on the island, and the citizens are happy. The coffers are full, and trades continue at a steady pace. Governor Tatiana declares once more her readiness to be there for the people if they need her. The Governor concludes her report.

9:19: Governor Shadowyke speaks for Vesper, and His Majesty asks whether there remain any problems with Dragon Turtles. She reports that the sightings have ceased, though there has been a slight issue which has given rise to greater drinking and violence, as people were quite attached to their pets. Small brawls broke out, but the Guard dealt with them swiftly. There is some concern about the possibility of an uprising, as prohibiting certain pets seemed to enrage some of the populace. His Majesty inquires whether those people had considered a gold fish instead. Governor Shadowyke replies that she is concerned that the people would try to have sea serpents before goldfish. The Governor is monitoring the situation, and will keep the King informed, though she believes they can handle it for now. Governor Shadowyke concludes her report.

9:24: His Majesty gives Lord Cogniac five minutes to give his report. The Serpent's Hold is in good repair. The coffers have continued to fill, maintaining themselves thanks to the investment in the SARS, which has now exceeded 2.1 million arrows. Lord Cogniac anticipates the next crisis may well may well use at least half that number, so they feel it best to be prepared to continue to bolster the Reserve. Lord Cogniac also passed out a copy of the monthly SOTA report, which has details on the current arrow and bolt prices. The Ilshenar Nightmare Rehabilitation Facility has been standing empty for some time. Lord Cogniac puts in a request for additional staff for the facility. Finally, regarding Governor Halister's issues in Moonglow, the Order is in agreeance with respect to the problems there and the proposed remedies. If the received reports are correct, then undead might be about the Lycaeum and its catacombs, which would prove perhaps even more serious a threat than the Council of Mages. It's possible, he continues, that the Council of Mages are harboring something even darker than what has so far been seen. Their recent actions might be a smokescreen. Lord Cogniac believes, based on the reports, that the issue may soon be no longer confined to Verity Isle. Lord Cogniac raises these issues so that those present may marshal their forces in preparation for any oncoming threat. His Majesty thanks Lord Cogniac for his thrilling report.

9:36: Governor Rizan speaks for Yew. He begins by relating that Yew has been quiet and uneventful since the Yew-nicorn and Un-acorn invasion was repelled; no further sightings of the creatures have been reported. Business continues no more troubled than usual in the city. Next, Governor Rizan congratulates Scribe Mayhem who is celebrating his one year anniversary of serving the King the week following the council meeting, and all assembled cheer for the Scribe. Governor Rizan continues by telling of Royal Investigator Sofina's sacrifice of her hat and the treasures she had found to quell an angry ocean spirit; he offers his condolences for her loss, and his congratulations on her induction into the Society for the Consumption of Unusual Monsters; current membership, two, including Rizan himself as the founder. Her induction was based on her outstanding idea for adding orange to the butter sauce to be served with the slain minions of the angry ocean spirit, including delicious giant crabs and a curious creature known as a cringe kraken, spotted during the melee with the ocean spirit's forces for the very first time. One of the cringe krakens was captured and now resides in the royal moat in relative peace and safety from being eaten by the Society. Finally, since Governor Craig is absent at the meeting, Governor Rizan reports on behalf of Jhelom that Ranger Edwin Thistledown appeared to adventurers to appeal for aid on behalf of refugees from Jhelom, forced to flee that city by a plague of giant mites, fleas, ticks, and other such blood sucking parasites. The giant creatures were squashed by the gathered adventurers, and Jhelom was safe once again for the citizens to come home to. Governor Rizan concludes his report.

9:42: His Majesty thanks the assembly for their reports and loyalty, and opens the floor. A citizen of Moonglow, naming himself Raz, a minor mage and functionary of a small order based out of Verity Isle stands to speak. He says he came to witness the report of the goings on of the Council of Mages there, and concurs with Governor Halister's assessment of the situation. He agrees that the Council of Mages must be destroyed, as they are enemies of Britannia. He thanks the King and departs. 9:50: After some final chatting, His Majesty concludes the meeting.
