Title: Tribes of Eodon: Urali

Author: Professor Ellie Rafkin

Written of in the most aged of manuscripts is a reference to a creature described as "an aquatic dragon that inhabits the seas and are considered an even greater menace to mariners than the winds of a typhoon. They are protected by a shell tougher than enchanted plate armor, and thus are extraordinarily difficult to defeat in combat" The Dragon Turtle prefers a sandy habitat and any who have been fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the creature are almost certain to take note of its uncanny speed for its massive size, surely the result of the strong flippers it uses to move about. The Urali revere the dragon turtle and view it as a gift from the heavens, a protector and near-deity among their people.

The Urali adorn allow themselves to sacrifice one dragon turtle every solar cycle to provide food and resources to their tribe. The Urali are fine craftsman and have fashioned armor and adornments from the shells and sinews of the dragon turtle.

It is unfortunate that with the introduction of the Britannians to Eodon the Urali fear future generations of dragon turtles are in peril as their eggs have become quite prized. A dragon turtle nest is in a sandy area, not far from a source of water. A single female can lay many eggs, the hatchlings are then left to fend for themselves at the conclusion of their gestation.

I have observed Britannian poachers laying in wait for others to approach the nest so no others can try and make claim to the egg. One member of our party was stealthy enough to sneak past the poachers and was able to return with samples of a hatched egg, as well as nesting materials.
