"The fabric of existence lies beyond the Luminaverse...the Noctemaverse outlines the Luminaverse and is, itself, connected to the Nexus."

His lessons on Planar Geography had taken a monotone feel to them. He felt as if he were giving name only to what She could already feel...and, in truth, He was.

"The Luminaverse and Noctemaverse interweave with one another, forming The Umbra. Walking the Umbra takes a great deal of egocentrism, as it is there that the fundamental governances binding emotion and energy in the form we utelize crumble. The Nexus is comparatively disruptive, but it is there where Physical cohesion and the fundamental governances binding those aspects of the Physical to which we are acclimated fall to pieces..."

She was entranced by all of this. "So...The Grey is where Lilith loses cohesion, and the Nexus is where Ao's influence falls short...How is this?"

"Ahh...remember that Thoth took from Ao the essence he then fashioned into Time, and from Lilith he took the essence from which he fashioned the Weave of Magic. This reduced both Ao and Lilith, having collosal impact, as you can see, upon their very natures. The Nexus is the "void" in Ao, where the essence of Time was drawn from...the Grey is the "hole" where the essence once filled by the Weave of Magic once was."

Ahh...now it made sense to Her.

"The Luminaverse and Noctemaverse are, quintessentialy, the final layers of existence. The only noteable difference between the Noctemaverse and Luminaverse is their inverted duality...They are, essentialy, Light and Dark "halves" of the whole, permeating one another via Concordant Opposition. Concordant Opposition is easily defined by example...You and I have reached a state of Concordant Opposition. Thus, on a much larger scale, do the Luminaverse and Noctemaverse operate. The Umbra, the infintismal "region" between the very essences of the Luminaverse and Noctemaverse, is where Thoth resides. The Umbra is the active effect of Concordant Opposition throughout all existence, yet it is a "place" so small that a grain of sand is exponentialy larger than it. Think of the Noctemaverse and Luminaverse as two layers of fabric, interwoven perfectly with one another, with the Umbra being that which lies between the very strands of that fabric. The Grey forms a penumbra off of the Noctemaverse, and the Nexus forms a penumbra off of the Luminaverse."

He hoped she was able to formulate, in her mind, a sound mental image of what he was describing. He was reduced to relying on mere physiality in his description, but it would have to suffice.

"Allright...now, where do the infinite Multi-verses fit into this?" She asked after pondering what she'd been told for a time.

"Ahh...the next layer 'inward'. The Nexus and the Grey form a barriar between the Multi-verses. A barriar traversable only by the essence of Awareness, given the nature of these two "vaccuums". Each Multi-verse operates within a Polyhedral Mesh formed by the very planes comprising it. Each Multi-verse shares an identical layout of the core Planes, although there are different Powers and histories within each Multi-verse. There are three different types of Multi-verse: Those that have reached the state of Concordant Opposition, also the rarest of all forms of Multi-Verse...those Multi-verses having not yet attained Concordant Opposition, of which there are two types; the advancing and regressing, in explanation, those approaching Concordant Opposition and those drawing away from it. Then, there is a third type of Multi-verse...the dead Multi-verses. Dead Multi-Verses have met with Oblivion, having receded as far from Concordant Opposition as possible. They collapse into themselves, forming what is called an Oblivion's Gate when they do. Should all of the Multi-Verses perish thusly, Time will no longer exist anywhere beyond the Nexus and the Grey, and his confinement to Time will be annulled beyond those points. All that which exists on this side of the Nexus and the Grey will cease, and Oblivion shall reign. Dead Multi-verses can only be restored by the will of Thoth...to the best of my knowledge."

He sighed softly. She was taking all of this in, but was it too much, too soon?...

Her eyes did not imply such...no...rather, they begged him to continue.

"Within each Multi-verse are infinite planes. These planes are divided, basicaly, between the Fundamental and the Ephemeral. Fundamental planes are required for the existence of a Multi-verse, and integral into it's continuance. Thus, they cannot be destroyed by anything short of oblivion itself, or the will of Thoth. The Ephemeral planes are unique to their multi-verses, being created by the itinerant Powers therein. It is the ultimate duty of the Powers within any Multi-verse to find the correct "combination" of Ephemeral planes to bring their Multi-verse into Concordant Opposition.

The layout of each Multi-verse is such that singular Planes within can be brought to this state, one at a time, by the actions of those itinerant to them. Thus, in a very real way, the actions of a single mortal man or woman can well decide the fate of all existence, should everything happen to fall into place *just* so...If their plane is the last required to reach concordant Opposition, and they have the means to bring this about, and theirs is the final Multi-verse required to be brought to Concordant Opposition...then their actions dictate whether or not Thoth's goal is acheived and all of existence returns to perfect harmony, or if it remains in dissonance."

The very thought of how all of existence could, quite literaly, be brought to bear on the single soul of one man, woman or even a child shook Her. "So...everything truly is connected..." She whispered, the full realization of how a single grain of sand in a single prime material plane could determine the outcome of...

"...Everything, Mir'kantess..." He replied to her very thoughts.

"And that is why we are here...to return Sosaria to a state of Concordant Opposition." She mused aloud.

He nodded. "It is the final plane in this multi-verse that has yet to be made so. And Seth battles hard here...if he should unbalance this plane much further, than it shall crumble in ways that will tear the Concordance of it's neighbooring planes to shreds, setting offa chain reaction that will bring this entire Multi-verse to a screaching halt. Whether or not this Multi-verse is going to herald Perfect Concordance or Oblivion, one way or another...it is a Multi-verse on edge. It is up to us..."

She interrupted his sentence, "...to tip it towards Concordant Opposition."

He smiled and nodded. She would make an excellent Dreamweaver...
