Title: Notes on Sethos
Author: Norture
I do not trust Sethos at all. He is obviously lying to us both regarding his past. For starters, he claims he learned from members of the Order under Lord Azalin, however he also claims his parents sent him to Moonglow when he was ten or eleven. He looks about twenty, which would mean he would have been at Moonglow at most ten years ago. I left eleven years ago, and thus wouldn't have met him. He claims he knew Professor Church, known to us as Darrien. According to him, Darrien would go to his dorm room and spend time with the students teaching them. From what he has said, he was a spoilt child and his parents paid Moonglow off well, this sort of good behavior from Darrien isn't unusual in this situation. However, Darrien left over eleven years ago, a month or two before I left.
There is no possible way this boy could have known Darrien if the information presented is correct. Not only this, but there is absolutely no way the boy could have studied under members of the Order under Lich Lord Azalin if the presented information is true. He claims when he could learn no more from Moonglow, he was driven to learn more elsewhere. I told him it only took me five years, and he began to say how one must read and practice and such, implying he spent more time than this in Moonglow. If he only went to Moonglow ten years ago, this doesn't leave much time for him to have spent with the necromancers he named.
Felrath was back for a short time six or seven years ago, before he disappeared once more. The other Sethos named hasn't been seen at all. It may be possible these ancient necromancers are hidden in the ruins of Caina and Sethos managed to find them, however he would only be an apprentice of at most four years (10 years ago he went to moonglow, claims he was there more than me, I was there for five years, he would have to be there at least six years). An apprentice so young wouldn't be out and about like he is, unless his master sent him for something, which may account for his behavior.
Perhaps a necromancer wants to know the state of the Order? The other conclusion is Sethos is very bad at keeping his facts together and is lying about everything he says. Given how paranoid he is, this is very likely. It may also be possible, then, that he is older than he appears. He may be dangerous.
A possible test to see what information he gives is true is by repeating it later on. Simple things like his name sets off his paranoia, however yesterday he freely gave out "information" about his past. We could use his paranoia as a tool, and see if he reacts to known lies like he does to suspected truths.
I do not suggest you take him as a serious apprentice. Perhaps if you wish to gather information from him. At the same time, I would be very careful. He seems to believe I am fully against you, and told me he gave out information on me simply to gain your trust to use you. It appears as though he is trying to gain favor from everyone important.
