Title: Becoming A Fletcher: A Detailed Manual

Author: Aislingach

I first became a Fletcher after becoming an archer when new to this land. As a horse archer, the bigger nasties were more likely to become my victim, than me theirs.

At any rate, it might do you some good to buy some training with a bowyer and with a lumberjack as well. it is cheaper to cut your own wood than to buy it.

The Fletcher's tools will allow you to make materials for ammunition and also allow you to craft weapons from logs or boards.

If you allow your lumberjacking skills to climb up, you will be able to cut all kinds of wood each with their own special properties.

You also need feathers for arrows and bolts, so then you now have another reason to learn to shoot a bow that you made.

My favorite source of feathers is a Harpy. I hate killing innocent birds when I have a ready supply of evil Harpies not far from my home.

You can also do quests for the bowyer elves to get some really potent magic recipes. the Elves don't do crossbows though, at least not yet.

Now first things first - Go equip yourself with an axe (it won't work leaving it in your backpack). Then go and chop some logs by targeting a tree with your axe. Once you have some (don't let your weight grow too great), click on the Fletcher's tools and pick what you want to make.

By clicking on the silver box to the right of what you want to make, the kit will tell you what you need to make it, including the level of crafting you need to make it.

After you begin crafting some beautiful weapons, you might as well learn how to use them. A good bow with magical back-up will let you tackle creatures that normally take team work to defeat. With a Fire Elemental at my side I've taken down daemons and full grown dragons.

At any rate, have fun while you keep bad guys many steps away while you pepper them with your self-made arrows, bolts or darts.

You can also make yourself some repair deeds when you reach a high enough level. Simply buy some blank scrolls, open your Fletcher's tools, click repair and target the scroll.

Magically, there will appear a repair deed that anyone can use when near a bowyer to fix their bows. Good luck to you young Fletcher!
