With each night un-death grasped the island which the Damned now called home. The gate had been constructed, the Daemon Lord brought forth, and a new Lich Lord crowned. The Abyss and Oblivion now shared an unholy truce, one that would serve the Convergence and once again bring the lands of Sosaria to their rightful beginnings. Sitting on their thrones high within the Sepulcher of the Damned, the two lords of Convergence met.
It is time to create in this realm a truly shared creation of the Convergence. Are you prepared Lord Beleth?
With a slight nod the Lord of Daemons raised a hued lantern. Nosgoth has waited long for this day; the joining will be a spectacle to see. He smirked. We should share this ceremony with those who see fit to banish us from this plane. Walking to the very top of the tower, the Lich Lord sent out wraiths across the island, summoning those of the Damned to the tower. The Joining was to happen this eve’, and blood was to be spilt in its wake.
Molochs, Daemons, undead, and their close allies the orcs gathered at the base of the tower. Coming down the final steps was the Lich Lord, Darrien, flanked by the eldest of death knights Kaziganthi and the newly summoned Moloch, Lucian. Raising his hand the gathered crowd silenced, and from the skies above the Daemon Beleth swooped down landing at the head of the army.
We march to Sanctus! The Joining is to be completed this night! The Convergence’ will be done! An uproar of screeches, grunts, and cheers went out as a glowing gate appeared. The armies of the Damned marched through leading them into the caverns, which flank the great white city of Sanctus. Having gotten word of the impending arrival of his old enemies, Talon Skyfire, ruler of Sanctus had his men prepared. The two armies met at the heart of the city, both with arms drawn awaiting the inevitable.
What brings your kind to this kingdom, you are not welcomed, turn now and perhaps we will let you unholy beings live but a little longer.
Darrien stepped forth from the ranks and spoke with a smirk; we come not to bring harm to your people, but a demonstration of the Convergence. I imagine you will enjoy it Lord Talon.
Talon was a veteran of the field, he knew he could not trust these beings, so with a slight nod he told Darrien to proceed, but with an unseen gesture he let his men know to be on their toes. The Lich Lord called forth the death knight Kaziganthi Ragor to step forward. Kneeling before the Lord the unholy knight laid his blade into the ground before him awaiting what was to come. Placing his skeletal hand across the death knight’s skull the Lich spoke in stygian, calling forth an ancient binding spell, one which would unite this knight of Oblivion with a daemon from the Abyss. The death knight’s eyes flared a bright red hue and he screeched out in a deathly cry. Lord Beleth then stepped forth next to Kaziganthi holding up a simple lantern. Inside was the newly extracted daemon of Nosgoth. The death knight looked into the lantern and a flash went out. Kaziganthi rose to his feet in a fit of rage. His pale skull began to darken as if burned, by the fiery abyss from whence the daemon Nosgoth arose. Grasping his blade he turned to the shocked army of Sanctus. The Joined creature raised his blade and his two lords of Convergence nodded to him.
With the creature turning back to Sanctus, Lord Talon raised his blade, we end this now. The two armies rushed, in a scene of blood and blade. The dust settled and all but the Damned stood their grounds. But Lord Beleth and the King Skyfire were not to be seen. Their battle was to take place near the great white gate that opens up to the south of the city. Talons mythical blade cut at the daemon sending him into the air and away from the fight. Knowing that their Daemon had left the field, the armies of orc and the Damned opened the red gate back to their island. They had come to demonstrate what power the Convergence now possessed, and gave the kingdom of Skyfire their demand. What is to happen, will soon work its way out in what is to be the future of Sosaria. _________________ <Admoreth> Ain't nuthin' but an e-theng. |
