Penny just sat on the bench gazing at the fountain within the garden. Her eyes transfixed as if she were in her own little world. She heard a noise as if someone were coming up the stairs. Her eyes light up as she saw James making his way into the garden.

"James!"

She cried out running towards him. Her arms wrapped about him hugging him. He felt different...something wasn't right. When she pulled away to look, reality had hit and it was only a sapling tree growing in the garden. With a viscious roar she tore at the tree as if now it were the enemy. Splinters within her finger tips, she moved back slowly towards the vase. The vase with the rose was what was left of her beloved husband. She sat down in front of it, her eyes redden from crying but alas no tears would spring. Her eyes gazed over to a item that was known as Blackrock. A struggle within her of what to grab. Finally her heart won, as she took hold of the vase hugging it for dear life.

You were my world...my reason for being. Now with you gone...what am I to do?

She looked down upon her dress that was still covered in the soot from the fire. She set ablaze that sacraficial roof top. She couldn't bare seeing the orcs rip and eat the burnt flesh of James. She had to do something...something to keep them from touching her beloved. So in a fit of rage, she casted fire field after fire field..the heat from the fires she could feel burn at her flesh, but she didn't care. She had to make it so noone else could bother her James. Once the fires cooled enough, she moved gathering up the ashes that now represented his body. She put them in a special vase, placing a rose with in it. It rested in their garden, on the roof top of the manor. She had lost all desire of life, as she sat upon the roof top never leaving James side. The grief...the saddness....she just wanted to close herself off from everyone. Her mind twisted from the power of blackrock...and with hatred and revenge settling upon her mind like thick blanket of blood covering the ground from a battle. Her eyes slowly becoming void of any life. For what was life, without her James.

Malic walked into Hanses' where he was somberly met by King Talon.

"Sheriff...sit...I have to tell you something"

Malic sat at the King's table and listened.

Talon then told malic everything that transpired earlier that night...the rescue attempt, the murder, the dismemberment, and of the orcs.

Malic collapsed in his chair, "I must find Marcus." He stood abruptly and stormed out toward the M'real Castle.

"Marcus!"
Marcus sat in the courtyard with his wife, both somber and silent.
Malic left them to their own thoughts and went the the Manor to see the remains. There he prayed and thought. " I must find a way to return my closest cousin from Oblivion"

Malic ran to his home...the family Abbey. There he prayed for hours, silently and sadly.

The next day Malic awoke early and began investigating where to start his quest. Many things fell on his mind. Revenge, Sadness, a new way to rescue James. Malic went to Felluca near the Damned HQ and just looked quietly at the structures, surroundings, and possible weaknesses.

"soon i will strike....alone if i must....Beleth shall be vanquished!"

Gwyn knew something was amiss, looking out the window to see her husband slowly enter the courtyard below. She watched as he sat on one of the garden benches. She made her way down to the garden and silently sat beside him.

This eve was the night they were to rescue Lord James.

Marcus held his head low, resting his arms on his knees. She watched him silently trying to understand his somber mood.

She looked up momentarily as the king stepped into the courtyard and took a seat on another bench nearby. Listening quietly as the men spoke, she began to understand...the rescue had not been as successful as her husbands had been. She looked down to Marcus and gently placed her tiny hand on his shoulder.

Her mind raced with muddled thoughts yet she voiced none. She fought with the idea of whether she should let her husband sit alone to gather his own thoughts, or remain at his side. She chose the latter. If he needed her she would there.

Serena looked to her husband in tears then laid her head against his chest as soon as his arms went around her,"James...but..,"she said as she looked up to him,"shhhh Serena do not upset yourself anymore...please..,"he said to her softly as he rubbed her back gently.

"Do the others know yet?,"she asked as he nodded his head slowly,"at least Marcus and Malic do..not sure about any of the others...,"he said as she nodded her head then looked over to where their daughter sat playing with her toys,"I need to go see about Penny..,"she said as she pulled away and rubbed her stomach gently,"Aaralynn stay here with Poppa ok?,"she said as their daughter nodded gently and looked to her Poppa.

"Serena be careful..you are due anyday now...,"Varlan said as Serena looked to him and nodded,"I know this Varlan but Penny needs some comfort right now...,"she said as the servant helped her into her cloak then stepped back while she looked to her husband,"Varlan I will be fine..but if you would feel at ease I will have a guard walk over with me...,"she said as he nodded his head then moved downstairs to find a guard to escort her.

"Aaralynn you mind your Poppa ok...?,"she said as the dark haired little girl nodded her head then went back to playing with her toys, giving her a soft kiss upon her head Serena then turned and headed downstairs,"I'll be home soon love..,"she said as she kissed her husband gently then pulled her hood over her head as she stepped out and headed towards the M'real Manor.
