Merci crawled into the small hole her body compacting down so her furry stomach touched the ground. Her keen wolven eyes picking their way along in the darkness. Dirt crumbled around her as she proceeded deeper into the catacombs.

At last the hole enlarged and she found herself sliding down a dirt embankment and landing inches away from a murky looking underground river. The door she sought was just on the other side. Of course, she thought, aren’t they always just out of reach? Growling she leapt into the water treading it keeping her head above water then crawling out on the other side. She shook herself the water flying from her fur. Transforming back into a human she grasped her sword and walked boldly up to the door where a guard dozed lazily.

She asked no questions she simply slit his throat. Pulling a key ring off his belt, she fumbled around trying keys on the door until she found one that fit. Iit clicked the door swinging open in her grasp

She strode inside and two large orc guards raced towards her, giant scimitars clutched in their hands. They swung them clumsily and she smirked, God who trains these guards. It was almost to easy killing them in a fell swoop her blade slicing wide into the air and slicing against both their necks in an elongated fashion. Blood gurgled and spouted from the wounds and the orcs fell to the ground.

She stood in front of the cage and looked inside at the miserable creature. A necromancer stripped of all regents, bonded and trapped within the cage. This was no ordinary necromancer though, this was indeed a Lycan kin. Her hand reached out with the keys once more until the lock clicked and the door swung open. The young girl inside opened her eyes in fear and immediately began to transform her teeth snarling viciously at her would be attacker.

Merci had little fear, and she laid a furry hand upon the wild girls arm the numbing energies of ice flowing into the girls veins. She was soon quiet and complacent.

I have come to release you, you do not belong here….That is all she spoke to the girl and she lead her back out past the slain guards, across the river and thru the hole. The forest broke upon them and the girl wagged her tail happily, freedom was at last hers…..

Merci watched as she lifted her mouth to the moon and howled racing off into the forest without so much as a backward glance. It didnt matter it was not necessary, the freedom would be repayed. Soon that same Lycan would find herself turning to Umbra following Merci's scent on the wind, their numbers would increase. She put a hand to her stomach, and smiled. She murmured softly after her, Lycan hunters beware, enslavement and death will not be tolerated, we are a proud race….
