|
Quote: | Welcome to the KR Beta!Jeremy Dalberg31 May 2007 00:46:10 ESTComing tomorrow from our friends at Fileplanet, you can download the beta version of Ultima Online Kingdom Reborn. Once downloaded and installed, you can log into your home shard with your regular account and start playing with your regular characters.
We hope you enjoy the new features and graphics. We aren’t done yet, but with your help, we’ll be able to make the new client everything you want it to be.
Keep in mind a few things:
- This is a beta test and we are still adding features, fixing bugs, and making improvements. We recommend playing on TC1 or TC4, to get used to the new UI, before playing on your home shard.
- We need to you to find bugs. If you find a bug, just click on “main menu” (a button on the right hand side of the hot bar) and you’ll see the button for the bug report form. Open the form, click on the kind of bug you’re reporting, and add a few words of description. Your report will go directly to our QA team. Bugs can be anything from something minor (like a missing piece of art that shows up as a pink box) to a crash bug.
- You can also use the Feedback form to deliver suggestions.
- The NDA is officially lifted. That means you can post on message boards about it. Tell your friends about it. Have your family jump in and play. Take it to the neighbors and have them take a look.
Thanks for taking part in the test, and thanks for all your great input.
See you in Britannia!

What I see so far from it, I like it. They still have a long long road to go, but I know I already prefer Kingdom Reborn to 2D. Especially since the tricorne hat looks tricornish. _________________ Reality, the refuge of those who fail in RPGs

I've seen some screenies that make my eyes bleed, though. They reinvented the wheel on a few large systems and came out with a square wheel, if you know what I mean.
What is with all the work to replace UOAssist and UOAM? I can see adding some UOA-like features since its a pay thingy, but jeez, spending all that time and effort trying to do something better than a program that does it perfectly is such a waste of time, given the fact that there are huge systems in UO that are glaringly and grossly imbalanced, outdated, or simply not fun whatsoever.
I also giggle at the fact that they ripped the WoW interface, and poorly at that. |

I love KR. Been playing in it for over a month now. Lately it has become a little slow, especially clicking the backpack and getting the paper doll open, think there is a delay or something.
Anyway... let me be the first to post a KR screenshot here.
Mag beach in xtreme zoomout with paper doll up.
I'm not satisfied with how some of the items appear on the paper doll, especially since Isk is wearing a carpace but it appears as plate, dont like the clothing sleeves sticking out of the armour either. Mask does not look bad, would look a lot cooler if the cloak of humility went over the top like it used to. Cloaks of humility are hooded.
Also for some reason in KR Isk's hair has become brown. Need it white! |

KR Isk looks as though he is about to do the Chicken Dance. Or perhaps he is constipated, but I can't see the expression on his face. |

Isk, heres a question... is the reason your hair is not white due to the cloak over your head and the mask over that?
Or did they just hose up hair color and anyone with that uber purple/green/orange type gonna cry home to momma because it looks normal now...
and yeah, the paperdoll does look like he had a few too many tacos for lunch |

Burritos are one of the few things that'll fit through the circular hole in that mask.

The hair is brown with and without headgear. Maybe I'll have to dye it white in KR client, unsure.
Here's another large screenshot taken a few weeks ago at the Sanctus event. The person in the paper doll looks amazing IMHO. The neon pink squares in the picture are tables I believe, certain tables didnt have a graphic at the time. Isk wearing traditional Isk bonehelm, people are standing through benches as you cant sit in KR yet

The characters in game looked more impressive in the KR preview screenshots when they were wearing a full suit of plate or just a robe or whatever. Now that I've seen them with the multicolored BOD reward mish-mosh of dyed armor and random gear, I am somewhat dissapointed. |

The hotbars are standard in games now. I've seen them in Neverwinter nights and others. They work and they are useful. _________________ Reality, the refuge of those who fail in RPGs
