Hi. I'm new here. And ummm..... I'm errrr...... Just wondering what it's like to play in this community.

I mean like, who's the good guys? Who's the bad guys? Who claims what? Do the ARPC and FAR get along yet? Is Taro really back or is he just posting IC for Ditto's storyline? Has Arcana come back yet? Is =L= really gone this time? Does Cein really run Umbra? Is Molly safe or is she currently kidnapped?

I guess what I'm asking is: So what's going on in the community? I've been trying to figure it out in game, but it seems nobody is ever where I seem to be. What's the deal? Where are the hot spots?

Hey there Max!

Well of course, as always, Sanctus is the bad guys.. and Umbra is the good guys! The Moonglows are the neutrals! Some FAR And ARPC RP with each other and some don't. Yah Taro's made guest appearances ingame! I guess I run Umbra, though lately there's been a huge population increase and we're overrun with lycan children... Status of Molly- currently unkidnapped and still married. I think Arcana's plays another game, she posted in a different topic not too long ago. I think Legion's gone, but you never know with them guys. Leshoc might be running around with the badge.

You stand a reasonably decent chance of finding RP in either Sanctus, Umbra, or Moonglow during prime RP hours.

arpc and far dont exist. everyone rps with who they want and it will always be this way.

Hi Max.

Yep, Taro, atm, is making occassional appearances. How often depends on rl. He's a big part of the D|O rp, but just cant physically be in game as often as he or any of us would like for various, but mostly happy reasons. He has some ideas that are upcoming in both game and in ic's. (ideas, but not scripts. Everyone that happens to find themselves involved, just play it by ear & either runs with it or not).

I liked Cein's answer too about who the bad & good guys are. hehe Too too many Light guilds to remember all of them. A very few Dark guilds. And, from what I can see, Umbra kicks butt. MTC (sorry, not sure if they are classified as good, bad, or neutral, but I tend to view them as neutral leaning toward dark). They too have done well in the latest battles or two and have the numbers for it right now.
On the "war" front, battles themselves are quiet as it seems we're all preparing in one way or another. (like training new recruits). ((I think it's explained more because it's back to school time irl and ppl are getting situated again, so I see more of that picking up over the next few weeks))
On the taven front, I don't visit all of the taverns all the time but the two that I've seen have the most activity is Hanse and the Umbra tavern. Both are off and on active.
Personally I rp with anyone whether I like them or not. As for the D|O, we'll participate in rp battles or stories with people who are doing it for rp fun reasons and not just trying to cause ooc drama.

Theres a ton more, but Im out of time and I really only thought I should post on what I've seen for myself.

Who is good and who is bad always depends on your point of view.

From the point of a Lightbringer, Sanctus and House of the Gauntlet are the goodies, Umbra and Zog are the baddies. At least those that I would say are the main ones.

Landclaims are not really busy at the moment, there are traditional landholds, but no real claims that are fought over.

I personally see ARPC and FAR not as much as different communities but more similar to NATO and Warsaw Pact Alliances. Same world, can interact but simply wont do that sometimes.

Arcy hasn't been in UO for a long time. I'm more or less the online semi-active member of her guild.

Well, I have indeed reopened my account, but I also foolishly stripped it of way too much when I left last year. I actually deleted a GM mage and a GM smith...dope. *shrugs* Oh well....I still have Max (without his good armour and house. Sad

All things in good time!)

For a while I will not be around a lot as I still have my clinical rotations at the hospital (350 hours worth) and ambulance ride time (200 hours worth) to do over the next several months, but I plan on popping in when I can and at least getting Max and the ALV a bit more active again.

I'm very happy that so many friends are still around (although very sad Aless is leaving) and active in the Community! Makes it easier to return!
