Beowulf entered her bedroom with a look of anger. Such an odd occasion it was to have him visit Audrina’s home. Lately their time had been spent having quick conversations as was necessary to affirm their marriage was still existent, but a visit to the bedchambers had not been made in sometime by either Audrina nor Beowulf.
”What is it? Are the children alright?” Audrina asked, but she received no answer. Beowulf pressed towards her, grabbing her face and locking in a kiss. Her blood began to flow as she returned the exchange and for the first time in a long time she felt alive.
Beowulf came and went without speaking much more than ten words, but after his departure she couldn’t get him off her mind. She lay beneath the covers, her mind racing with thoughts, and eventually fell asleep.
FOUR MONTHS LATER
She looked to her armor lying on the chest at the end of her empty bed. She wondered if anyone had noticed her change in attire lately. She hated not having the cold feeling of platemail against her skin, but knew that already she had grown too much to wear such things.
She sat silently in front of the hearth, her hand gently folded over her stomach. Thoughts of the night four months previous raced through her mind. Certainly Beowulf should be expecting the news she had purposely not told him. She then thought of Tay and his recent departure from the house. It seemed empty without him there, but she would never admit to such a thought. Then she thought of Julana and what would happen to the child. She always seemed to be weak, fatigued and sick. She brushed the thought aside and thought of Atira. Atira was the one person that could bring Audrina alive on demand. She was obedient, strong, smart and quite the beautiful young lady. Audrina often thought of her as the daughter she lost with Davaran, Letitia. She wondered if Letitia would have turned out as wonderfully as Atira.
Her mind wandered for sometime before Atira burst through the door. She looked so much like Audrina had at that age. Audrina looked to the young woman with a smile and called her to sit closely. She took Atira’s hand and placed it onto her stomach. Atira gave her a strange look as she felt the small hump on her mother’s stomach.
”Mother! You’re going to have more?” Atira asked and then let out a giggle of excitement. Audrina simply smiled and said, ”You are the first person I have told. It is our secret for now. I will tell your father soon.”
HOURS LATER
Audrina tossed and turned in the bed. She felt for the warmth of a body next to her, hoping to feel him, but nothing. Quickly her mind raced back to her dream. Curiosity drove her to run towards a figure in the road. Her mind told her to turn back, but her body continued to push forward. The figure from a distance fooled her to believe that she might be running towards Davaran. Oh, to feel the warmth of his arms around her. She had often found escape in her dreams of Davaran. She continued forward, but the closer she was the easier it was to make out the figure, it was Beowulf. His long white hair wrapped around his shoulders as he stood in his uniform of grey and blue. His face looked peaceful and he had a half smile on his lips. She shook her head in confusion, but felt her body continue pushing forward. She continued to run towards him, surprisingly longing for his embrace, but each step she took seemed to take her further away, until once again he became a distant figure.
She sat up and wiped the sweat from her brow. A tear ran down her cheek as she looked to the empty spot in her bed where she wished he was laying. She put her hand to her stomach and rubbed gently. She felt so alone, although there were two children sleep on the floor below her and another one growing inside of her stomach. _________________ Darrien_Church: he asked what was the church of england based on

Audrina fell to her knees as Ceinwyn held her hands firmly against her forehead. Tears were running wildly down her face, but Ceinwyn continued forward. It was important she make sure to alter ever badly viewed memory Audrina kept. Audrina kept her eyes closed and her hands on her stomach, hoping somehow the child within her would give her strength.
”Tell me what you see.” Ceinwyn said.
Flashing before her eyes she could see Marcus M’real, she cringed. The next thing she could see was Malic M’real standing outside of the jail cell she had just been thrown into, behind him stood Davaran holding their newborn child. She felt as scared and hopeless at this moment as she did that night. She could see tears welling up in Davaran’s eyes, but she couldn’t stand to look. She switched to the next memory. She was standing on the steps of Blackguard infront of Malic and Marcus M’real. She felt so angry as she watched the argument break out between the three. She watched herself walk away from the castle and she wanted so badly to go back and stab them both in the heart.
”Is that all?” Ceinwyn asked. Audrina wanted to say yes, but she knew that she must continue.
The next memory was the most painful. She was handing Letitia to Davaran. She kissed the small baby on her forehead and then moved to Davaran. A chill ran up her spine as she watched herself embrace in a kiss with him. She wanted to stop, but she knew what was next. So she continued to stare directly into Letitia’s eyes. She tried to take in everything about her now, as she didn’t before. She could hear Davaran saying good night and then herself, ”I’ll be to bed shortly.”
She knew she wasn’t going to bed and that the kiss they had just shared would be the last. She walked out the front door and waited. Time elapsed. She saw the orc standing out front and watched her lips move as she said, ”Make it look real.” He nodded and grinned as she handed him his pay. She closed her eyes and a single tear dripped down her face as the orc readied himself. The club came down on her head much harder than she expected and she watched herself all to the ground.
She felt Ceinwyn’s hand reach down to help her up. Her tears now turned into sobs. It was over. For the first time in years she had broken down, she showed emotion. She felt lighter and happier.
”Are you alright?” Ceinwyn asked.
Audrina laughed through her crying and nodded. ”I owe so much to you Matriarch. You have helped me more than you will ever know.” She bowed her head and smiled.
”I must go see my husband and tell him the news.” She rubbed her stomach and then wiped her face.
”Walk in darkness my child.” Ceinwyn looked to her as she began walking away. ”Oh, and you are having two children, not one.” She laughed.
Audrina rushed out with a rush of emotions. She wanted to cry and laugh and she even thought about dancing. She couldn’t wait to see Beowulf, to tell him she was sorry, to tell him of the two bodies growing within her, and to wrap her arms around him and kiss him. _________________ Darrien_Church: he asked what was the church of england based on
