Hello folks,
I feel I should come out about this in fairness to the people I 'attempt' to play with and those of you whom I consider my friends and may feel like I have been avoiding you all for quite some time.
I have obviously been rather absent for quite some time in game. I don't really write much either. A few months ago I developed a condition called Fibromyalgia in the wake of my car accident. This is usually a genetic predisposition however it can effect anyone. It is not contagious, it is not progressive and there does not appear to be any cure or any apparent 'cause'.
What this condition does to me is causes me to experience potentially crippling and intense periods of joint, muscle or bone pain as well as fatigue. There are other side-effect symptoms but those are the main ones. This symptoms go in flares, typically day to day and are largely unpredictable although in the morning I can almost 'feel' whether or not that day is going to hurt.
This is not a QQ post, and I am not asking for sympathy. I simply want my friends and other concerned parties to know what's going so they do not think less of me for not knowing.
There is presently no cure however my physicians 'hope' that I will grow out of this condition as my body finishes recovering from the car accident and I stop growing.
Having said all of this, I would still like to continue to serve as a moderator for these boards and a community resource and even write a story or two from time time. Thank you for your time. |

I'm sure you have the support of all who know you well and in passing.
Truly I hope things ease up for you. As someone who happens to have Lupus I have a pretty good idea of what you go through--my flares usually involve joints and usually more-so in my right leg. The frustration of the whole 'there's no cure but we can hope' logic that the medical community offers is tremendous.
Hang in there. Know that people care and miss you. Oh, and get yourself back to UO! Distract thyself. _________________ An artist is a creature driven by demons ~Faulkner

I know you said it isn't a sympathy post, but I'm sorry to hear about the problem, I'm sure it sucks. Take it easy and relax, and if your relaxation happens to come from activity not related to UO, I'm sure everyone will understand. <3, sir. |

I was wondering where you disappeared to. I'm sorry to hear that. That really sucks.
We'll see you in game when you are able to. Feel better.

Hope it will clear up. I have wondered if I didn't have it myself. A book on it that I looked at said that guafeinsen (sp? --the stuff in some cough medicines) alleviates some of the symptoms for some people. |

Hey you.
Thanks for letting everyone know, but yeah, like Kuja said. I feel bad for you that rl seems to just keep taking a dump on ya.
We'll still be here, so if ever you have a "good" night and want to play, you won't have to wonder if you've been kicked to the way side. You won't be.
*lots of careful hugs*

There are some non-traditional treatments for your condition. I have a friend that has the same thing. I will ask her and get some information for you to make it a bit easier to live with. The internet is a great sorce for information too. _________________ Grand Duchess Molly Kaldhel
