Yasamin had finished early that day, and walked out of her shop, then stopped, stunned. The sounds of marching men and clattering weapons were strangely silent. She looked around, then up, staring at the sky, making sure the time was what she thought it was. Well, she thought, maybe they are fighting in Magincia. Still, they should have at least made sure the town was secure before defending another! She looked around and spied outside the gates a mongbat, sneaking into the gates. Oh, no you don't! she thought, and said a small spell and watched the vermin become engulfed in flames.

Well, if they aren't going to patrol, I will! She slipped into the shadows and wandered through the town. She walked by the architect's shop and had to hold back a laugh, listening to Ruthann and the carpenter Malcom whispering to each other. Then, she felt her cheeks get warm, hearing more, and decided to leave them alone.

She crept to the shore, and looked out, watching for boats. But rather than boats, she saw another threat! A water elemental had come to invade the town and cause trouble. She whispered quietly, eyeing the elemental, and watched as a bolt of lightening struck it down, killing it instantly. She nodded, and slid back into the shadows. She wandered next to the Lyceum, and checked the rooms, all quiet. At least, it was quiet, until suddenly, she caught her foot, tumbling out of the shadows and onto the floor. She looked down at where her feet laid and picked up a book: Fifty ways to make squash edible. She slowly picked herself up, and went to the shelf, putting the book away.

With a quick look, she muttered, and found herself at the Encyclopedia Magika. She checked the areas, finding little of interest. She spied the portal, and gave a wicked grin. She walked up to the portal, and quietly spoke. "Recdu." Suddenly she was in Papua. She ran quickly to the bakery, purchasing some delicious, bread. She slowly walked back to the portal, hugging the shadows as she chewed a piece of delicious cheese bread. She walked back into Tricks of the Trade, found the portal, and whispered, "Recsu" finding herself back in Moonglow. She walked slowly back to the town, chewing her bread and looked over the gates once more. Now she was certain. Moonglow was safe for one day at least.
