Now that the bag of sending changes have been implimented for a while I'd like a weigh in for an article. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

I just returned and discovered the changes when I had a full bag of gold in the bottom of Despise. I personally don't like the changes. While it doesn't matter as much in a Trammel dungeon, it makes dungeon crawling in Felucca much more frustrating as you can't even recall out of the dungeon. I don't think it makes being in a Felucca dungeon harder, just more annoying which doesn't really have anything to do about challenge. If content is annoying, it's a lot less enticing for me than content that is easy and more profitable.

I personally feel it is broken now.

Makes it hard to train if you spend so many charges sending just gold back. Not to mention looters like me that take any stackable resource.

I can see the reasoning behind why they did it. I doubt it would be enough to reduce inflation though, if that was the reason for it

Personally I think it *ucks.
I mainly used them to send blank scrolls to the bank so I can make mass recalls and repair deeds for my crafter. She has multiple venders at several locations within the realm, and I have to restock the venders daily most of the time.

Personally, I think it sux so bad. I have about 20 bags i will never use now, and a couple thousand charges. I think it hurt vendors that made their gold selling powder and bags more than any scripters.

Could have been worse. My crafter sold off 30k worth of powder just before they did it. took 3 months to sell it.

30k powder? I... I can't even visualize how you do that. That is impressive, obsessive-compulsive, and downright insane all at the same time.

Want to hear about compulsive obsessive? I created a char the other day Either friday or saturday, I stoned over GM Stealing. But trained GM Chiv, Med, Focus, and should GM hiding tonight. Started training stealth today, already at 77.0 stealth, and 77 Tracking.

New changes absolutely suck for the legit player. It makes anyone who hunts in fel (like i used to) completely mad... i spend the effort to run my tamer all the WAY down to some hunting spot 3-4 lvls deep in a dungeon and when i'm full i have to run all the way back out. (use powder to get my pet out with the summoning ball). I gave up on that.

Oh well they screwed themselves when they made skill training so darn easy. Doesn't even take any effort to GM anything anymore. I remeber a time when being a GM in something (especially crafting skills) ment something.

I don't think skill training has anything to do with this. Two very, very different issues. Maybe in pre-tram skill training meant something, but for the last 7ish years all it has been is meaningless grinding that people, for the most part, need to get out of the way before they can begin enjoying the game. Most of UO is endgame stuff meant for completed characters, you can't just make a new character and hop in and play. Making skill gain harder won't do anything but hurt legit players who -don't- want to macro their characters all night. Also, you have no room to talk because you were macroing ninjitsu the other day :P

But as for bags of sending, you touched on something I didn't- It harms legit players more than it fixes gold farmers simply because it removes choice from where casual players can go hunt. While some might think "Well how did you survive before bags of sending? It's not any different now", it's not a fair comparison because in the old days we could recall in and out of Feluccan dungeons.

My major issue with gameplay mechanics from an RP perspective is that when I started to RP, a 7X GM with an agapite hammer was something of a God.

Now pvp utterly confuses me.

As far as bag of sending...horrid. But I don't hunt or train anymore. My characters have the skill I want and I have the gold/items I want.

Last time I seriously fought/hunted was the Mag. Invasion, before that...over a year at least.

I dont use them anymore. its cheaper to use recalls and just go to the bank.

I really didn't hunt all that much before, but when I did, I liked to hit lower level Shame on the Felucca side. Now? I still go there, I just don't loot. I don't think it changed anything. Most people will get their gold through buying and selling items, or they will buy it off of a broker.

In the end, their efforts didn't do anything other than alienate the few people who didn't hunt for high end stuff.

Then again, that is just my opinion.
