Sitting in the bedroom provided to her at the Den of Sin, Merrique looked about and found herself flooded with emotions. She thought over the last year or so of her life and took stock of the many changes that had taken place. The ups and downs. The highs and lows. Coming to Umbra. It seemed that in the last weeks she was prone to fits of extremely powerful feelings, often accompanied by bouts of crying when she wasn't really sad or angry; she assumed it was caused by the many physical changes the pregnancy brought. With her feet propped up on the edge of the beautiful love seat in her room, it occurred to her just how incredibly happy she had been despite life's many attempts to derail joy. Merri found it ironic how nicely things fell into place after she stopped running from her feelings.

With a mighty yawn, she got to her feet and went for a brief walk into Umbra. Feeling the ever-present need to wander, she walked out to the house she often stayed at in the desert highlands and began cleaning and keeping herself busy with mindless tasks that allowed her to continue thinking about the many things that seemed to hold so much importance lately. It was with some surprise when she left to return to the city, that she found Walter on the porch. They greeted, they kissed.

Then Walter asked her what she would be doing with the rest of the evening. She gave a typically vague answer that left room for interpretation, and that was when the warrior told the gypsy that he thought it would be a good night to be married. More thoughts poured into Merrique's brain, and she was pretty sure she felt her heart skip a beat or two. Once calmed, she raced to Umbra to find Ceinwyn.

It was Ceinwyn she would most love to attend the wedding. It was Ceinwyn who had let her live, gave her shelter, employment, safety. There were moments that Merrique lamented the fact that, in the troubled times of the lands it seemed imprudent to have a large celebration with many in attendance. But the wedding wasn't about guests and parties, it was about things that really mattered. Merrique's heart filled with joy when she found Ceinwyn and an acquaintance at the Den, and Ceinwyn consented to come and see her wed.

With the many feelings mixing around within her, Merri was overtaken with a sense of family when several others of the Umbran family--including Merci--gathered to accompany her and Walter to Magincia. Perhaps it was coincidence, perhaps the Matriarch sent out one of her wisps, it did not matter. My family, this is my family now the bewildered woman thought.

Magincia would be where they were wed, that was established soon after the marriage proposal; it seemed fitting. Something good and right and happy to be born from the ashes. Inspiration. The baby she shared a body with would be Umbran, but the marriage would be Magincia through and through.

Ceinwyn opened a portal to Trinsic, and the party stepped through. Merrique felt such a strong sense of belonging as she was accompanied to her future by the darklings she so loved. The group crossed the water and came to Magincia, and the devastation there was all too evident.

With every bit of debris and rubble she passed, Merrique resolved that she would do all she could to help the island recover. After all, Walter had mentioned several times that the Patrona was a gypsy. And gypsy could only mean one thing: somewhere in the past--recent or long since--Merrique's blood crossed with that of the gypsy who stood beside Isk. Sometimes, all a gypsy really had was her bloodline.

The Patrona had laid out the most beautiful path of candles to the beach. White trees outlined the place the ceremony would be performed. Doing her best not to show her absolute fear of the man behind the mask, Merrique stood beside Walter and they faced the ocean.

Isk's ceremony was, without question, one of the most beautifully worded unions Merrique had ever heard. It was hard to believe it was her own marriage that showered such fortune into her life.

The final vows were spoken before the marriage was sealed with a kiss. And Merrique meant them with every ounce of conviction she ever felt in her entire existence:

As I give you this ring, I give you my body, my soul, and my blood...

Merci watched the proceedings, she watched with great interest. Merrique was a valued member of Umbra. Her contributions in Loyalty alone were what made her valuable. Merci cared greatly for the land she served and the people in it. She cared deeply for her Arch Matriarch, Ceinwyn whom forever held a place of honor and loyalty in her heart.

Merci was not one to show emotion much, though during the course of the ceremony and just after it ended she did turn out a few smiles. Congratulations was definately in order at this time. She did not know Isk well, nor the Patrona, she had heard of some of Isk's more extremist views but it was Merci's beleif that you were entitled to the freedom of your views. Merci embraced difference even if this was not other peoples passion. Umbra was made of all types, Umbra was strong because of the loyalty it held and beleif they had in each other.

Yet tonights festivities were cut short for Merci, it was not long before Merci found herself dressed in her wedding attire, battling the flames that rose in front of their beloved Sepulcher. Using all of her cold energy to keep them icily at bay from touching the walls. Darrien, had come to demand an answer of Umbra, which made no sense as Ceinwyn had already spoken with the Armunn family. Yet this Lich lord had grown mad with power. Mad with the Dark Orders power.

She found this weak, chaotic and surely soon to be the Lich Lords own downfall. As she watched the billowing smoke from the live trees she spied Willows favorite Willow tree and she walked to it, placing an icy hand upon it she froze it protecting it from the burning. It was nothing of significance, but after the night the Warlord and the rest of the Umbrans had had, it was a small favor....

The meeting was horribly boring, again. God how he hated politics but here he was standing next to his friend Isk. The same friend that had been there for him in the past. All he wanted at this point was his Merri, forget the meetings, forget the wars, forget the politics. And tonight he thought to himself, tonight is the night he puts that ring on her finger.

He rushed out of the meeting, checked at home and she wasn't there. Quickly he traveled to the desert home outside of umbra. With a smile and warm greeting all his worries about the meeting we was just at were gone. With a smile he looked her in the eyes and said "Let's go to Magincia and get married, tonight." See looked up at him being caught of guard for a moment. Then with a big smile and a hug she excitingly said yes.

Quickly he ran home and changed his clothes, after stubbling through piles of clothes trying to find something that looked decent and atleast sort of matched. All the while Merri watchs him, probably very amused with this man running frantically around searching for his clothes and the rings.

Finally they get Magincia. Looking out over the rubble, looked at the remains of his town. This was his home, no where else had ever ment as much to him as this beautiful island. The place was done wonderfully by the Patrona Angelique. The wedding ceremony done perfectly by Isk. His words were truely inspirational. Tonight was perfect, the most wonderful night he's ever had. Here he was with his close friends and the woman he loved dearly. He smiled as he looked to his new bride, he knew this was just the beginning to a new chapter in the long book of their life together.
