This was one of many times that the Matriarch was happy to step back and she let the Warmaster have his due. Myrddin and his warlords held the man by the great black pit. Tiny vibrations, Merci could feel them the walls practically purred, as it gobbled up the mans fear and pain. Thoughts kept swirling thru her head, she could hear Myrddins voice clear and strong, as he read the list of charges and sentenced the man to death. Attacking an Umbran of high ranking, Lord Keldril. Conspiring to Kidnap, Nyxanna....Myrddins own daughter. Death, the sentence could only be death...

The bola rapped tight around the mans neck and Myrddin held him his arms strong, over the dangling blackness of the abyss, the blood running down his legs from where Xeros had cut him. Willow clutching the mans tongue in her hand having ripped it clean from his mouth to prevent him from praying to gods. Not allowed, the sepulcher seemed to shudder to Merci with hunger and excitement and she could not resist it affecting herself. It was delicious...

His death was cleanly played out Alex being allowed to stab the man and Myrddin releasing the rope letting the body limp and lifeless fall into the dark abyss, Merci felt great elation, wild hunger instantly and momentarily subsiding, the blessings of darkness returned to Umbra.

There would be more there must be, her thoughts turned once again to Ceinwyn, some days it was hard to get the Arch Matriarch out of her mind but that was as it should be that was the bond they shared...

Ceinwyn turned about at the sound of the man's spirit slamming into the ground of the shadow realm. Another life fed to the abyss and the Sepulcher.

She allowed herself an indulgent smile. The rat man had asked if the building itself was a living thing. She had never given him a straight answer. But, then again, she didn't usually give anyone straight answers.

She wondered if the Umbrans who had fed this pathetic excuse of a kidnapper to the abyss could feel the shadows deepening in the hall. Shadows in which no light pierced.. no life sustained. This was what she had always sought, before the ice had taken her. This is what she had been missing for the past 25 years.
