From the darkness he watched the small girl sob. Her green hair hiding her face. So sad was she. Her eyes were that of her mothers, her skin pale and beautiful.

A fathers heart could only swell with the beauty that was his child. Yet it ached for his love, it ached for his child. For the family that would never be. There little Willow lay, under the Willow tree. Anger filled him as he jealously scowled at the man that walked forth. Gray de'Chambray picking up his daughter, holding her close and calming her tears.

What happened next surprised him further. She bit him, little Willow bit the man she called father and he dropped her in surprise. The next words tore the heart from all men nearby. I dont want you I want my Momma! The girl ran from him and flung herself back down under the willow tree. Gray had no clue what to do with his young daughter and so he sadly turned leaving her to her tears.

Jon Jr., itched, ached for he knew what to do for his child, he knew the sadness in her heart. She felt lost , alone and out of place in this family that was not her own. He felt it in waves as it came from his child. Yet here she was safe and hidden so he stayed the course. One day he would take her from here but not today.

Still the sadness choked this young man, wanting to be a father and being denied. Sadness choked the young daughter, wanting to be a daughter and being denied.

They were not cruel to her, truth was her sister and father loved her here but she was not the same. She could feel it in her bones and there was no changing that which she was the environment could not tame her dark heart. So sobbing beneath the Willow tree till sleep claimed her was her new game.

In the dark of night she arose and next to her was a toy. A doll no less, carved of the self same Willow wood from this tree. It had a funny stare as if someones soul was inside of there... She hugged it close for it felt as if it belonged. The doll had red hair, soft and luxurious and it was her mother she new at once. She kissed its shiny head of hair and curled it up in her arm. So glad mum has come to take care of me she said.

In the darkness he watched,
Green eyes gleamed,
Shade will awaken there,

In the darkness,
She played
till mornings light bid her leave,

She buried that doll there under the Willow tree,
She would return each day,
He would watch her play..

Under the willow tree...
