Dearest Sanctians,

It is my hope that my words find you in good spirits and good company. My heart longs for the familiar faces and comforting surroundings of our fair city. Alas, duty drives me onward. I have made progress in my pursuit of the Lich Lord, Darrien Church. Every mile ridden, every cold night in the wild brings me closer to the vengeance I seek for the slaying of our Queen and Princess.

I hope you shall all forgive me for my absence. Even your King has faults. I shall know no peace until this matter is set to rights. However, Sanctus shall continue to grow without my physical presence. I have been the guardian and protector of our realm for more decades than I care to recount. The wolves shall be at your throats while I am away. It is now that you will find your strength. You will grow to know that it never was Lord Talon who held the Kingdom together, but the unbreakable resolve of the Sanctian people themselves.

All other nations before you have failed. All others have fractured or disappeared. Others have resurfaced, envious of the achievements that only you can boast. You are the oldest continuous nation in Sosaria. Do not buckle to the pressures of other groups. Remain true to our values and beliefs. Be the White Gate and beacon to all followers of Order and Good.

You are always in my thoughts. Do not falter, and remain strong. One day, far from now, your King shall return to you. Veneratio, Ferocitas, Imperium.
