I always kept our Tavern neutral and regardless of who, or what a characters believes were they could still come to our tavern without fear of attack from us. However, in lieu of this statement and the rule that covering your face is "forbidden" I have decided to ban all "known" members of Sanctus from my Tavern and my Lands.

Any "Known" member of Sanctus caught in the Tavern, Minoc, Vesper or Britain (B4) will by means of RP be asked to surrender themselves for arrest, those that refuse will be subdued in whatever manner I deem necessary and arrested.

Good, more realism to those that are enemies. Never understood tavern night at all. Never. To have people that are enemies in the same area drinking and talking is retarded especially when the taverns are in enemy lands. No offense. Just never got why people did this. It makes absolutely no RP sense. If you all wanted to get together and talk then just talk on vent or what not.

We're rpers, it wouldn't make RP sense for us to allow known vampires and necromancers run around our streets without that being challenged. This is rp, not a personal ooc attack. If you want to enjoy the rp w/out conflict bring a different character that isn't a vampire.

PS: Oh, and if I'm in your lands and I'm NOT challenged (being a known enemy if you know I'm a Sanctan) then YES, I do expect conflict to take place. Didn't know that was something new or something that even needed stating.

I don't think Sanctus isn't saying all vampires... just the ones they know IC are vampires. An' they aren't saying you can't come, just warning the players OOC that there may be conflict. I can understand that because it makes rp sense. If your character isn't known to be a vampire, an enemy or whatever and you want to go, than do so. I have never hid Ariana's Cap guild tag and I have never had a problem visiting their lands so far. Mind you, she isn't a vampire, but its just my personal experience on the matter with those in Sanctus I've rped with. An' no... damnit... it isn't just because Ariana has boobs. *smirks*

Cein saw a "known" Sanctan in Umbra just the other day. Why didn't she attack or get hostile? She needs entertainment. Immortality gets boring, so why not converse with a virtue monger and argue their faith? It's good for kicks. You also never know when you might "turn someone to the dark side" muahahha

On a more serious note, c'mon doods. It's not really hindering your RP. If the only thing you can RP on your vampire is feeding (aka cybering 90% of the time), you're doing it wrong.

It really kind've does need stated. The mindset I've seen in the past few months has been mostly trammy (at least to someone like me, who sees the current era in contrast to the older ones). Not that I am necessarily saying the 'old days were better lolz and thus you new people suck' or anything like that, nor am I suggesting the newer mindset/players "can't handle" the way older players view conflict, but they just kind've don't lean towards it or have it cross their mind at the right times, it seems.

QFT.

Not that I don't think the rest of the post is true, but I'm betting it'll get removed, and I'll preemptively save a moderator the need to edit two posts Wink

Also:

Is it unfair too that chars that stand out as being likely evil are looked at suspiciously or are outright killed at prot meets? I say no, because IT IS IN CHARACTER for the good kingdoms to act that way. Seriously, TSE wore the whole lol-let's-tavern-sit-in-Sanctus-and-be-douchebags gimmick. Evil, let's move on.

Although the above is a bit off-topic in my opinion, I do wish to mention that I have only seen any Cap member "feed" once and it was from a slit wrist and absolutely nothing sexual about it. I've never had any of them attempt to do so, nor at least in Cap, ever heard about this occurring to be honest. I can't speak for the other guilds out there personally, but having been a member for a few months, it is not something that is 'commonplace' with my guild, if it even occurs at all.

And I've had a vampire for a number of years, and have watched a lot of vamp RP. There's a lot of sexual connotations, and I think my point still stands that if your char only exists to feed, you're doing it wrong.

*grins at Nocture* Oh I didn't say it DOESN'T exist. I've been in multiple vampire guilds on various shards and it absolutely does happen. I just wanted to defend Cap personally from being lumped in with the stereo-type.

ANOTHER point:

It works both ways. When I was in Sanctus and went to go visit best buddy Ciara in Umbra, they surrounded me and were questioning me and generally made my char feel very uncomfortable for being there. Should he have been welcomed and huggled and given cupcakes? Hell no, it's that distinction and line that both sides make that causes conflict and thus interest in the community.

Edit: I know Cap's got a decent level of RP, I've hung out for some of their things in the past. I don't think Sanctus' rules should be a problem for them, as long as Cap isn't going out to yank Sanctus' chain.

I took it as RP. In the past we have both showed up at each others tavern but seeing as myslef and certain other members of my clan are no longer allowed to attend I just wanted to make it known that Sanctus would not be allowed at ours either.

I take nothing in UO personal, never have, they day I do will be the day I quit playing the game. Sad

Please, take the time to RP with CAP, to feed in public is against the rules of the Clan, we don't do it and if a member does they are repremanded for it and will even be booted if they continue.

I might have only been playing UO for a little less than a year but the High Council of Cap consist of RPers that have been doing this for 10yrs, 8yrs, and 6yrs respectivly. And she will probably shoot me for saying this but Skatha use to be in Dayel Stormcrows Court back when.

Im just saying please dont stereo-type us, i think several in the community will say we can and do RP and don't do that bad at it. Razz
