“It is amazing..” Bishimi thought to himself “how one piece of a puzzle can make everything fit so perfectly.” He knows now who brought this pain to his lands, he now has a name, and with a name came a slew of knowledge. “The drow thought he was smart, the drow thought himself untouchable…shows what one -knows-.” Were the words crossing Bishimi’s mind as he looked across the table at his elders. “What do we know now?” he asked
‘With a name finding them was very easy Soke,’ Micarlin began “we now have a far idea of how many his clan holds and at least two of their bases of operation are known to us.”
Bishimi nodded and looked at Shihan Garrett.
Garrett simply shrugged and in a very calm and very “matter of factly” tone of voice only said “They pose no threat physically Soke, their men are weak. They perhaps have a bit of skill in stealth and spying, but that is all.”
“Preparing for such a foe is no issue,” Masaaki added “it is quite possible we could send our Oshiego to take care of the issue themselves” he said with a sly grin upon his face.
Bishimi nodded at the words of his elders. He trusts these people with his life and the well being of Tokuno, it is the reason they sit at his side. “What else do we know Micarlin?” She quickly took out the notes she had made based on her wakes reports. “His clan consists of about 5 people, they have a base in the drow quarters and one near trinsic. The leader, the one they call “the boss” has a child. We do not know much more about him as of yet but have been working on it. He also has one that seems to like to frequent our lands and the lands of Moonglow. Our trackers have caught wind of him on more then one occasion, we assume he is the one feeding information to his clan. They are sloppy Soke, with a bit more time we will know how much gold they hold in their banks and how often they relive their bladders.” She ended with a smile that showed how proud she was of her wake as she put away her papers.
Bishimi found interest in a few points of her report. “A son” he mumbled “that means a weakness, not only physically but mentally. He saw it fit to attack one of our citizens perhaps it is fitting to attack him just as personally. We also need to hold concern as far as his ties with the spider witch, if he resides in the drow quarters he surely has some.”
“Why?!” Shihan Garrett asked quickly and forcefully “We can take care of them just as easily. None of these people pose a threat to us!” Bishimi simply nodded in agreement. “This is very true Shihan, but the Matriarch Ceinwyn and I have something of an understanding with one another. We have agreed to not raise arms against one another and these “quarters” reside in her lands. If we are to act against this Syndicate we must do so without giving the slightest of warning and without involving any of the other clans of Umbra. I do believe this is why the empress saw fit to ally the ones that call themselves the protectorate. Should things take a turn for the worse we may need support and we are sure that Ceinwyn will not hold arms against the drow.”
“What is it you wish us to do Soke?” The three said almost in unison. “One weeks time,” He began “in one weeks time we will strike. Until then, Micarlin keep your wake on watch any information we can gather will be of aid. Garrett get your men armed and ready, should word of our plans leak there will be possibility of a counter attack. Masaaki I wish you to put your men with whom they fit best, Micarlin or Garrett, then double your training efforts with the Order, we may need as many swords as we can muster to make sure this goes as smoothly as possible.”
The three nodded surely in their orders and their ability to carry them out. “We will not fail you Soke!” they again said at the same time, almost as if practiced and made their way from the meeting room. Bishimi stayed behind for a moment and thought to himself…”Its amazing what one can do with a bit of knowledge.” He grinned to himself as he blended into the shadows and began to make his way towards Umbra. |

Alaundril rolled up the several scrolls carefully and saw that they were safely stored in the vault. The Quarter had been eerily quiet this evening. Kinn's reports had come in handy. They offered much information that The Boss had not come across before. But the Lotus was strangely calm, At least, from the reports that he was receiving. He had been in this business too long to take that for granted. Perhaps it was the calm before the storm....
Calmly, the old drow made his way upstairs to begin writing his next round of directives. It was almost time.... |
