Posting on my cell. I got to class, turned it on, turned on pidgin, it hung up as it loaded offline messages and all of a sudden my antivirus goes crazy. Scanning it now, it's spread everywhere in critical files. My poor lappy, I have no idea if it will survive. |

I recommend HiJack This. Found here.
Run the software, and copy the log text file it gives you and load it onto hjt.iamnotageek.com.
They'll tell you which files are dangerous and which to delete and stuff. It's helped me a lot in the past.
Best of luck! _________________ I have no idea what you are talking about.

Virus scan is running clean, and miraculously it loads. Looks like it infested IE, as it's the most broken. I'll probably re-download it tomorrow probably and then run windows update and see if there's anything that comes up. I'd reinstall Windows but I have no idea where my XP CD is for the lappy. |

Yesterday sucked, not only did my lappy go wtf but I was looking forward to playing WoW with you when I got home!
Also, an update since I've had 3 people icq me asking about what is up with the lappy: the trojan nestled itself in core windows files and other boot files, which is why I was concerned it wouldn't even start after the boot scan was finished. I have no idea where the xp cd is for it, and as a result can't just reinstall XP. I'm going to go put all of my stuff in an archive, hook up my old pc, and scan it to be sure it's all clean. The virus scan is coming up as clean, but I want to be sure before introducing anything to my new pc which I already just got back from repairs. It might just be cheaper to get a new laptop, mine is beginning to break apart. The screen especially, and that will probably not cheap to repair. It was $800 when I got it 2 years ago, I've gotten a lot of use out of it. |

I dunno how it is where you are, but theres a few ma n' pa shops around here offering slightly used pcs and lappies for cheap. (I got my wife a 18 month old slim laptop for school for her for $175 - freshly imaged and all the basics loaded), so you may be able to get a replacement cheaper than reapairs. Tho if all you really need is the drive wiped and a fresh XP load, that should be mega cheap, esp consididering you're a student and can get a copy of the OS for pennies on the dollar.
But new toys are always fun. _________________

The indy computer shop I go to is pretty good, I'm going to talk to them about it. The screen is starting to break apart and the right hinge is broken, it will probably be cheaper to get a new one.
When do you get home from work? We could have some WoW time before the event tonight. I hit exalted with timbermaw while running the final virus scan ran too! |

Sure, we can hit slave pens and finish off your rep with them. I did my IC dailies before going into work today. I'll have "of Undercity" tomorrow. _________________

I'm using Chrome right now. I have to say, it IS a lot faster. It's a lot less cluttered, which is nice too.
The ONE thing that bugs me is that when you view in full screen, you can't hover by the top and see the address bar, like you can in IE.
But, yeah, I'd recommend taking a look. _________________ I have no idea what you are talking about.
