Korin stood in front of the mirror in the room in the inn in brit. He had left Stonegate with his blood boiling in his cold body. His mother was getting married and he found out about it along with everbody else. It was time for Training and he didnt want to go. He knew he would probally see him there.

Korin picked up the pack that had sat in the bank since his return to his mothers. He pulled out and carefully unwrapped each peice laying it on the bed. Standing there looking at it he thought of how it would make his mother and father feel, when they saw it for the first time.

Korin pulled on his undershirt and grabbed the first peace, slipping the cold metal over his head and fastening it at the sides. It felt good to him. why had he not done this before. He turned to admire it in the mirror, when out of the corner of his eye he saw his blue robe draped over the back of the chair. He turned and looked at the ice blue chest peice he was wearing. "Not yet" came that voice inside his head.

Korin quickly got dressed in his old armour and and put on his blue robe and headed for Stonegate. Korin had not used his skills in the arcane much at all in the past year, so he was more than a little rusty. He could see the dissapointment in The Wolf kings eyes as time and time again he would either mispronouce the spell or it just refused to work for him. Korin wanted so badly to Yell this is not me anymore. but that voice inside kept saying "not yet, Not yet!" Training went badly for Korin it seemed to him that he was just not altogether there. He was even knocked on his ass by a member of his own team in one of the duels, and had to use his power over the cold to stop the flow of his blood from coming out his nose.

As korin was dismissed from training he averted his eyes from The Wolf kings. He could not bear to see the look of dissapointment in them. He raced toward brit knowing that soon he would make them all proud.

Korin stabled Tamas and took the steps two at a time leading up to the second floor of the inn, He almost sprinted down the hall and into his room. He threw off the robe and armour of his youth, and started putting on the suit of armour that he had come to love.

Korin ran his hand over the cold metal of the ice blue breast plate. The sleeves fit his arms tightly and the gloves felt as if they and been molded around his fingers. The Leather backing of his ring mail pants fit snug. Korin fastened the gorget in place and picked up his helm. He stood in front of the mirror. Looking at himself, He liked the way the gorget held his chin high and his hair fell down over the ice blue armour. Korin sat the great horned helm onto his head and stared into the mirror. The Blue eyes staring back from behind the slits in the face of the helm cut deep into his soul. The voice in his head rang out "No longer Korin d'Rue the boy, Korin d'Rue the man stands before you, Now go take your place at your mothers side."

Korin fastened his Kryss around his waist and put on the charcoal gray robe of Stonegate. taking up his shield he bundled up his old clothing and marched out. Korin payed his bill to the inn keeper and headed to the stable. Tamas took one look at him in his armour and his light blue eyes glowed. He gave a little grunt as Korin swung up onto his back but with out a word spoke or a direction given he knew where they were going and started off.

Korin halted the Ostard as the stable boy stood by the door. He bent down and handed him his old armout and robe. "Keep those I will not be needing them anymore." As he kicked Tamas in the ribs and off they rode.

Korin found the meadhall empty, so he sat down and helped himself to a pitcher of ale. Three glasses into the pitcher, Korin started to remember things about the past two nights. His mother getting Married, Not to his father. He would need to talk to her about that, then the way he had treated Ciara, the night before He would need to apologise to her for the words he said to her the other night. Even though she was not his wife but for a little over a day, it had been one of the highlights of his lifeand one of the hardest parts to deal with.his mind wandered as he started on the fourth glass. flashs backs of there short marriage. Of the beating he had recieved from her father. His father giving his approval. Lestat stopping the beating. Memories of his child hood flooded his mind. His mothers inability to show affection.

The door to the meadhall opened and in walked Merci followed by Pales.Korin knew shortly after his mother arrived and the words kept coming out of his mouth that he should not have drank before talking with her. Korin was bringing things up about the past and not focusing on the now. Korin was looking into his mother's face when he talked about his father, He had hoped to use him to sway her about this marriage. It was not the d'Rue way to show emotions. but Korin saw it hidden deep inside those blue eyes, Pain. For only the breifest of seconds Korin saw pain in her eyes. At the mention of Alexis fathers return, Korin cuaght a glimpse of it again before, his mother turned it to anger, destroying a glass against the wall. Korin had come mad at his mother for taking a husband. But now all he wanted for her was happiness.

Korin approached his mother and stood face to face with her. Looking deep into her eyes, She was right she did deserve to be happy. He tried to make a joke about, now being a blue haired bastard stepchild, but as normal his mothers sense of humor and his were not the same. Korin remembered how her and his father had dueled for hours at times neither wanting to admit the other better or giving up. So Korin decieded that now was time to tell the truth.he invited her up stairs to the area.

Korin removed his robe to reveal his armour and challenged his mother to a duel. When Korin stepped infront of his mother and Produced his ice warfork and placed his shield on his arm her eyes shown a light. but it dimmed fast as the wall fell. He wanted to make her proud that she had raised a strong son. As the wall fell Korin reliezed that his intention although good probally at that time wasnt the smartes. Maybe he had pissed her off a little more than he thought. His mother was still very angery inside even though it didnt show. Her first blow was parried by his shield and her second found its blade trapped in his war fork, He flipped his wrist and his mothers weapon went flying. Korin thought that that would get him praise but what it got him was a fury of blows from another weapon. His mother rained blows down so fast that offense on his part was none. Her blows landed against his shield and warfork with such speed and force as to keep him stepping backwards. Korin saw it coming but there was nothing he could do to stop the blow. it caught him square beside the head just under the horn of his helm. The bright lights flashed around his eyes then everything went dark. Korin heard his armoured body as it crumpled to the floor. and with in a few minutes he opened his eyes. His mother helped him up and the two looked into each others eyes.

Merci told korin that she had waited for him to grow up, and become a man. Korin knew that he had finally found his place in the world and it was where he should of been all along standing beside his mother. Korin Had grown up but he knew deep inside he would always be her little blue haired bastard.

Pain... Years of it, as he came and left. Day after day, month after month, year after year. She had loved him, Keldril.... She had given everything for the man..Myrddin and Keldril had been the best of friends.

Together as they trained Merci, as they perfected her into an artwork of war, a tribute to all that was battle it had began. The great love of Keldril Kil'ana. Yet he was drow, he had things in the underdark that constantly called this surface drow... She had born him children and he had left. Pain for the Lady of War, carefully hidden away. Pain at moments of joy when he returned followed by dark nights of being alone. Keldril came less and less to see her and his family, her son Kaleb and he all but lost to the underdark...

So Myrddin had stepped in... he had guided her young as best he could, but he had a family of his own. She would not attach herself she decided next time, to the kids and the father. So she had grown cold. Even Myrddins' eyes darkened now when Keldril would leave...

Then Lestat had come along, strong determined and loyal. He loved Merci but she would not let it be... She would not lose another to pain.. Children were created of them in unusual fashion she would not lay with him, she would not carry the children...so other means were used. Yet he loved her and she turned him away. No More Pain Lestat... She was right though, he would come and go to see them..

Everchanging, ever leaving her one by one the two men would come and go. Yet Myrddin did not her friend remained steadfast at her side...

Korin felt pain and she had let hers slip, now he knew the loneliness of the Lady of Snow.. Would it end? Could at last she find someone who would cause her no more Pain?

Bishimi....could it be he..so alike two warriors at last....

And Korin, she smiled, at last her boy had turned to man...It was time to let go of pain...Time to cause some..
