Years have passed, kingdoms have fallen and grown. Darkness drowns light, and spiders are not so easily vanquished.
Slipping out of the underground passage connecting Umbra and Luna, the old drow found himself in an oddly familiar place.
“The Sanctus, the White Gate, still hold after so many years,” he says to himself as he cloaks his head in a cowl to protect himself from the long forgotten sun.
“Could it be that Talon…Talon Skyfire…still repulses this land with his cursed chivalric ideals, and still holds this fortification between the necromancers and Luna?” he says smirking while pacing the road through the Sanctus structures, “I would have thought these dreams would have been long forgotten…like me.”
Power and the love of chaos is what drew this old drow back to the lands. The Lloth worship and constantly warring drow houses in the underdark do well to keep up the chaotic environment of the matriarchal drow cities, but on the surface good triumphs over evil and at the end of the day people sleep soundly. Despite his hate for Lloth, the old drow seems to hold her favor, and why shouldn’t he when what is left by his dabbling is frenzied to say the least.
“L'barra Rei Vla'rinnyn has no more influence in the surface realms…this must change. Vhaeraun’s influence must again resurface! The Staff of the Spider shall once again be wielded above ground!” the old drow says as he looks in disgust over the realm, “but how…?”
Pulling forth a quill and dagger the old drow exposes his arm and slits one of his wrists. In his own blood he writes the following leaflet which is then posted over the land:
Chaos rises like the cursed sun that supplies life to this wretched land. Chaos and power is within our grasps. My name has been forgotten, but it will soon be remembered. I ask the drow of this land to head my call and rise to the challenge of bringing these surface realms under the rule of the true masters.
I know that there are drow currently following Lloth and though the Spider Queen and I are no great fans of one another, our goal is the same. If there are any L’barra Rei Vla’rinnyn left, come to me my brothers and sisters! A new time of darkness should surface, and let all the drow do their part in the tangling of webs!
In the Name of Vhaeraun!
Lord Gorhun Morchiant

As Kal'iksix emerged from her mediation room within the temple, a female slave approached her with a message written in red ink. Kal'iksix dismissed her and scanned the document. Drawing parchment and quill, she penned her reply while summoning her obsidian spider messenger.

Matron Mother of Qu'ellar d' Alean'und
First house of Shinduago Charnaggen
Kal'iksix seals it with her house symbol in her signature purple wax. "Find the one called Gorhun, my pet," Kal'iksix whispers as she kisses the spider lovingly on the thorax. |

Sipping wine from a crystal chalice, Gorhun yells at his newly acquired slave to continue modifying his newly obtained residence. The slave was probably at one time the owner of said home, now forced to turn it into a dark sullen fortress.
As the drown finishes his wine, an obsidian spider saunters into the room bearing with it a parchment. Unrolling the parchment and reading it to himself Gorhun sighs and says, “So the rumors are true, Lloth has ventured to the surface. This Matron I will meet…she may be of use…”
Pulling forth a quill and a parchment Gorhun inscribes the following in the language of his kinsmen:
Vedui' Kal'iksix Viaxus
Ol zhah bwael ulu zhaun l' ilythiiri ph' still pholor l' shinduago. Usstan orn'la saph ulu thalra xuil dos lu' discuss rivvin isintolen. Ori'gato udossa klyth l' cressen d'lil ssussun bringers...zhal udos?

“Lloth…,” Gorhun laughs as he sends the parchment to the matron by way of crow, “you will have your chaos…perhaps only a tad differently than you would have liked…” |
