The little snake rat cruised contentedly, his little whiskers giving a small sniff occasionally as he moved to the Mead Hall. Attached to his collar is a small scroll, rolled up
Dear Livvie,
Well, I ran the test for analysis today and need to up the main ingredient to two full tablespoons. The signs are there of it's potential, but it's not completely successful. Thankfully one test subject is quite willing to consume an exagerated amount of the ingredient and has definitely shown, trhough his consumption, that it is successful, but needed in higher dosage.
On another note, I am getting married, so eventually we'll need to figure that out. I want bombs.
Again, another note. I left Toad in the pantry. He didn't do anything, but I'm afraid his big frame did knock over a bit of flour. I've sent a request to a local farmer I know for wheat, and tons of it, to make up for the little mishap.
Much love,
Ciara.
PS, how's the new homework coming along? |

Livvie stood on the chair with her knees bent and frying pan firmly gripped in her right hand. "No you can't kill it," she kept telling herself aloud. "It has a... a thing.... attached to his collar. So it must be domesticated right?" Livvie's left hand raced to her mouth and one by one unceremoniously, she began to bite off her nails. "You went hunting the other night, you had a pair then. Have some now!" Her bright green eyes darted between the slitherby and an unforseen object on the table in thought. "Well, I wasn't alone then, I'm alone now. GIRL GET A GRIP!!!" Taking a deep sigh for strength, Livvie eased herself off the chair and down to the floor. She gently put the frying pan down and watched as the creature seemed to breathe a sigh of relief at her no longer having a heavy piece of iron in her hands. With her two index fingers and thumbs she reached for whatever it was attached to it's neck. She kept her head back and her eyes half closed as if unsure of what the tiny little creature was going to do.
The creature regarded her with a look of amasement. If this was "The Cook" of Stonegate, she had surely lost her nerve somewhere between the other night and today. If it were capable of communicating it would have agreed when Livvie had shouted aloud to herself to grow a pair. Finally having extracted what seemed to be a letter, Livvie smiled at the creature and sent it on it's way. Quickly she opened it up and read through.
Ciara.... change in ingredients..... married...toad in pantry...homework...
Wait, married? Her eyes darted back to the word and the mention of smoke bombs. Married.. as in ball and chain and being caged... Married.. What in Gods names was she thinking???? As a rule Livvie and Ciara were peas in a pod, at least as far as Livvie was concerned but to go and get herself fenced in and... and... kept????? "Ciara must really love him."
Pulling out a piece of parchment, Livvie bent over a random table in the meadhall and jotted a response.
"Dear Ciara,
1) Thank you for the update on the analysis. Keep me posted.
2) I am getting used to finding Toad in my pantry. On the bright side he spills less flour than I do! Thank you for sending for some more. Between the two of us, all of Sosaria will end up flourless.
3) Homework is going well. I am researching Lilllies in between my search for the perfect gingerbread man!
and 4) MARRIED???????????????????????? Are you suuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeee you know what you are doing. He's cute and probably a really great companion. But do you want to have to obey, and keep house, and obey, and give up your freedom.. did I mention obey???? You do whatever is good for you. I am happy for you if you are happy.. honestly! And bombs are easy breezy!!!
Livvie"
Wrapping up the parchment, Livvie looked around for the creature that had brought the first one. "Dammit, I let it leave!" Gathering up courage and forcing herself to grow a pair as that was her only form of mail carrier available, Livvie darted out of the Meadhall in search of the creature once more... |
