This is one of the reasons I've been raving about the Fel events that EM Nestor does. I've enjoyed the summer Fel event chain more than any Tram event I've really ever been to, just based on the fact that the turnout is low to medium and lag isn't even an issue. A lot of people don't like to go to Fel, but I've not been killed at any of the events I've attended and I've had some pretty good luck with drops as well.
I don't think it is the EMs fault, though. There is not much they can do about lag. Spreading the objectives out helps a bit, though. _________________ Dryzzid#5091 | 74503058 |

Agreed. I don't fault them directly, but I do think it would benefit them and us to try to take lag into account as much as possible when they are planning events.
I also agree on spreading things out. It was a massive turnout. If there were two different areas to go to (on different servers since different servers cover different IG areas) I think it would have been much less laggy as the group would have ideally been split in 2 and the servers could have better handled the smaller groups. _________________ Veneficus, The Blue Mage |

That is how the Fel events I was talking about are set up. There are usually 6 different "camps" to go to where we've typically had to kill things. In one event, the "camps" were pirate liches on ships spread out in the Fel oceans. It took some time to find them. In another event, there were 3 riddles and 3 ciphers located inside a house within Serpent's Hold. Every event has different objective points and it breaks up nicely. Add in the fact that only about 1/4 of the people attend Fel events as compared to Trammel. At 3 separate events I've actually solo'd a few of the camps (with a partner).
The only choke point is the actual quest information giver, who is located in a cave north of Minoc. Usually the spawn/pvp guilds lock the cave down so people can't get the info on where to go. I'm always spying on my thief though, so I don't have a problem.. hehe.
Anyways, I think this should be carried over to the Trammel events. I've said since I've returned that Atlantic needs 2 more EMs because it is a high population shard. We need some events in off-peak hours, as well as extra support for spreading out objectives at on-peak events.
Honestly, I don't mind dying 50 times due to the difficulty of a monster. Dying 50 times to an area effect because of lag, however, tends to spoil my fun _________________ Dryzzid#5091 | 74503058 |

Good Input guys, EM Bennu came to our meadhall last night to thank those of us who came out in Stonegate and talk briefly to me, he also said that our feedback was really important and that he would be reading this thread. Though he cant post here he is reading it and I am sure this will all be useful information for the next time! _________________ May destiny guide you... |
