After the attack on the paladine David, Sheriff Spawn went back into his office and examined the bottle of Black Dog brew that was left where David was found. Spawn recalled seeing one man who was talking to David before he was attacked. That man was the Black Dog Captain known as Arlin. Spawn slowly stood up from his desk and walked to the nearest window. He stared out to the city of Sanctus in deep thought.

"Why would Arlin attack this paladine?" Spawn asked himself still staring out the window. He went back to his desk and started to read over the papers on Arlin. "Where would I find Arlin these days? I thought the Black Dogs were done for. But it seems I appear to be wrong...Arlin must be found." Spawn said to himself. He then walked out of his office and chanted "Kal Ort Por". Spawn now found himself in Cove in the Trammel Facet. He walked around the town, asking the townspeople if they have seen Arlin. His search for Arlin in Cove turned up nothing at all. Spawn then recalled to the city of Yew and continued his search there. Later that day he went to Vesper, Britain, and Skara Brae. Spawn failed to find Arlin in any of the cities he searched. He then chanted the words "Kal Ort Por" and recalled to Sanctus. Spawn walked back into his office and continued his investingation on Arlin's attack. He was detemined not to give up until Arlin was brought to justice.
