Hummer breathed in deeply as he sat at his desk. His skull candles burned lower and lower as the night passed him by. He was uneasy this evening, and could not sleep. The current events had angered him beyond anything that he could have imagined.

Hummer sat back and pondered, what should he do? Finally it came to him, he unrolled a piece of parchment and began writing a letter.

Dear Thrakus,

Has been a while my friend, but luckily not to long. I never got the chance to thank you; you helped me conquer the Underworld with much ease. As the commander of my army, you did a great job. I expect no less from you anywhere else.

I did not write this letter to just thank you, but to ask of a favour. There have been many disturbing occurrences in my life recently. These might end up in what some might call, a “war”. I ask that you pass your rank in the Underworld army to someone else, and come join me in this world.

It is in this world, that I ask of you to create an army. Create a group of your own, fight as you wish, train as you wish. Create The Banished Legion, and arise to fight by my side once again. I would like nothing more than you to be here, for the future. I shall await your reply my old friend, until than fare well.

Sincerely,
Lord Beowulf Thorimear

The parchment is stamped at the bottom, a black and red flaming BL.

Hummer rolls up the parchment; he holds it close by tying a black and red belt around it. He casually strides over to his hawk, and straps the belt around its leg.

“Take this as quickly as you can my friend.”
He whispers into the hawks ear.

Watching the incoming hawk with curiousity, Thrakus watched it advance towards his window. When it reached him, he untied the message that was tied to its' leg.

"And what could this be..." He thought outloud.

Unfolding the letter, he began to read it, chuckling slightly at certain parts.

"So old Beowulf want's me to help him once again...Hrmm...Doesn't seem too big of a task..."

Pulling out some parchment, Thrakus set to writing a response.

Dear Beowulf,

Aiding you in creating an army shall be an easy task. Though, let me remind you. Since I have been in the Underworld for so long, my skills from your world have long since left me. Thus, when I come to your world, I will have the strength comparable to a newborn calf. That means that I must train non-stop, and with your aid, that shall take no time.

Who is it that you wish to conquer this time? Has someone been bothering you of late? If so...We shall see how long it takes for them to join the Underworld...

I shall pass on my rank to Dracor Krasus, who if you remember, was my second in command. For as long as I have known him, he has served extremely well in battle.

But for now, I shall begin my long journey towards your world. Till then, my friend...Till then...

Till death,
Thrakus Hectoren

At the bottom of the letter, he placed his seal. He then rolled up the parchment, tied it to the hawks leg, and released it out the window.

"Till then my friend...Till then...", as he laughed out loud.

Kona'zak swooped in through Hummers window, dropped on to his desk the hawk lifted its leg for Hummer to remove the letter. Leaning forward in his chair, he untied the the letter from the hawks leg and began to read it. He chuckled a bit as he read the letter.

"Thrakus as strong as a new born cafe? Perhaps we will need to train a bit. He has always been so confident in the team work we can conjuer.
"

Hummer reached across the desk and pulled over a roll of parchment. Unrolling the parchment he began to write a reply to his old friend. He wrote with a calm hand, and choosing his words carfully.

Dear Thrakus

It has been nearly a day my friend, your taking much longer than I would have expected. A long journey you say? I have travelled to the Underworld and back many of times.

I fear you under estimate the difficulty in creating an army. Fighters are not so easy to come by, but offer them many battles and they will come.

The people I am having trouble with will not be an easy task. They are a great force, and large. I suppose once yourready we can exchange a few words with them my friend.

I hope Dracor excepts his new rank with much enthusiasem. He had always been a great warrior, I don't think I could have passed it on to a better man.

I thought I would just let you know before you arrive, people know me by that old nickname of mine. The name Hummer has grown on me, not many people know of Lord Beowulf.

I hope Kona'zak finds you with out much trouble. I will await your reply, or perhaps your arrival, which ever comes first.

Till Death
Lord Beowolf Thorimear

At the bottom of the letter Hummer stamps a red and black seal. He rolls the parchment up and belted the parchment up with a red and black belt. Tieing it to his hawks leg, he stands up and aids the hawk over to the window.

Sitting on a rock, Thrakus unfurled the parchment that he had received from the same hawk as before. As he read the letter, he heard a noise in the bushes behind him. He slowly turned to see what made the commotion, when a band of brigands revealed, surrounding him. Each theif had his own weapon, be it dagger or cutlass. As Thrakus surveyed the scene, he chuckled.

"What are ye chucklin for! Give us all ye got, or yer innards 'll be on the groun'!" one of the cut throats said, obviously the leader of the pack.

"Is there some law here, where a man can not laugh?" asked Thrakus, still smiling.

The leader of the lot started to advance on him, obviously thinking that Thrakus would be an easy kill. Thrakus muttered the words In Bal Nox, and the advancing man clutched his throat. The man started turning an odd colour of green and began choking. The men around began to stare at their leader, oblivious of what they were seeing. The man finally stopped his chortling, dropped to the ground, and became still.

"Whot did 'e do ta Stolf?" asked one of the startled theives.

Before they knew it, Thrakus had muttered the words Vas Ort Grav. A bolt of lightning started at one of the men, and continued through each one. When the lightning had finished, seven men were laying on the ground, either dead or twitching.

Thrakus sat back down on his rock, now partially splattered with blood. He finished reading the letter, and pulled out his own scroll to write upon.

Dear Beowulf,

Why did you bother coming to this realm? The men here are weak, pitiless creatures. A batch of them just tried to rob me, and now, each one will serve for Dracor.

Thrakus grinned to himself, and continued his writing.

Sorry the journey has been taking so long, I have been stopped by these foolish humans many times. As for collecting an army...Perhaps those that have already fallen can help. Skeletal knights, they're called. All that is needed is a quick ritual.

As for your name, Hummer...Why is it you hide your identity from these stupid humans? What have you to fear from them? Surely they cannot do much to you.

Well, I shall be there within a day. I have been training some skills on my way here. Some unfortunate humans have become my training targets.

Till death,
Thrakus Hectoren

He tied the letter to the hawks leg and set it loose.Thrakus sighed as he sat up, and surveyed the scene around him once more. He quickly finished the ones still twitching, ending their misery. He moved his hands slightly and said aloud "Uus Corp" A skeleton of one of the men crawled out from its previous host. It's insides were still intact, yet slightly burnt. He motioned for the skeleton to follow, and started once again on his journey towards his friend.

He was beginning to grow impatient, it had been a couple of days and couldn't understand what was taking Thrakus so long to arrive. Around the same time that Hummer was beginning to get frustrated a hawk flew over head and dropped a letter on his desk. Hummer unrolled it and quickly scanned it over with his eyes.

When he was finished he sat back in his chair, sighing in relief he pulled out a piece of parchment from his storage box and began writing.

Dear Thrakus

I was beginning to get impatient, actually thought something might have harmed you. Now that I have read your letter I am much calmer, I hope you took the important belongings from those foolish theives. Becarful who you fight my friend, there are some strong people out there. We are only slightly stronger than most humans, but are equal to the superior ones, maybe ever less.

I am not afraid to share my name with anybody. I do not fear that anyone will do anything to me because of my name. I orginally called myself Hummer, because I thought perhaps the paladins who banished me so long ago would still be around. I was hoping to catch them off guard, I have come to a conclusion that they either died of old age or are in hiding.

Travel a bit quicker, your wasting time killing people. Things are starting to come together and fall into place, if you take much longer you will be left out. I want to see you here by tonight or the next evening. I will introduce you to some friends, and keep you hidden from others for a short time.

As for your skeleton soldiers suggestion, I want only the best in the army. No spell ritual skeletons, I want real fighters.

Take Care
Lord Beowulf Thorimear

Hummer stamps a red and black seal at the bottom of the parchment. He rolls the parchment up and ties it close with a red and black belt.

"Stop wasting time Thrakus..." Hummer said to himself quietly.
